I'm kind of sad to not see Daishi or Atlas in the list, but so be it. I took the Imp - I liked it better out of all of them.

They already have the Atlas in the game so methinks they are fishing for another assault.

Annihilator - This looked really good until I noticed the armor was made of paper mache.

Devestator - Great weapons system, plenty of ammo, well armored, decent movement, but a little light on heat sinks for weapons groups, all that and it looks cool too.

Imp - Its like boba fett and Urbie had a 100 ton baby, and it has enough heat sinks to fight on Tatooine. Infact they could have pull 4 heat sinks, change 1 PPC to a LG Laser, drop 2.5 tons of armor and have svelt 85 ton Super Imp with max armor, a better weapon/damage distribution, and improved heat efficiency.

King Crab - What a beast, good armor, instane weapon system, but only 5 shots?!?

I think I have to go with:

Devestator

I'm honestly suprised of all these people asking for clan 'mechs, IS 'mechs from the future (it's 3049, not 306X like in MW:4, check Sarna for dates) or Atlas. Atlas is already in the game for the record. :) Mackie, in turn, is extinct or near extinct from modern IS.

Anyway, I love the Crabsies, so King Crab. For all the powermongers, keep in mind that while Devastator may seem very impressive it has XL engine and I hope those will get properly balanced in the game (such as, your 'mech blows up from left or right torso damage too, not just central torso).

King Crab itself could easily fix it's limited ammo supply with XL engine. Actually, it could fix that with just double heat sinks (since that would free 5 extra tons).

(Edit) On further thought, it's actually likely that we would get the low-tech DVS-1D Devastator, not the stock DVS-2.

So Devastator really is 100 ton heavy with:

2 AC/10
2 Large Lasers
4 Medium Lasers

Though it has not yet been confirmed or denied if there will be Lostech (such as XL engines or Gauss Rifle) initially.

Gotta be the Kodiak!!

*EDIT - yeah, I know it's a Clan Mech, but the idea of playing as a freebirth isn't sitting well with me yet...

I'd be torn between Imp and Devastator if the Imp didn't look like it would take 4 weapons groups to use effectively. But since it does, gonna have to go with the Devastator.

The walking shotgun that is the Annihilator seems like it would be fun to play as a troll, though. Turn a corner as a light mech, then suddenly you're exploded!

What variant of each mech are we suppose to consider? The game is suppose to start either right before th Clan Invasion, or, at the beginning of the Invasion. So players will not have access to certain variant.

But, you listed two mech that were exclusive to the Wolf Dragoons (Imp and Annihilator ) While some may have been lost in combat and captured opposing forces. They would not have large numbers in circulation.

I'd go with the Devastator. Unless the Devs are going to put the specialized autocannon ammo in, then it's the King Crab. And all must bow down the the might of the Banshee-3E!

Kind of an odd set of choices. I voted for the devestator, but I'd rather see a Zeus, Victor, Cyclops, Highlander, Thug (since we probably can't have the warhammer), Mauler or any of the more classic mechs. Is the offering Imp a shot at getting the Urbanmech guys off your backs?

It's good to see a couple of Mercenary Faction mechs. :)
Annihilator: Rubbish in Battletech (too slow, too short-ranged), a nightmare in MW3 (XL engine made it as "quick" as an Atlas). The 4 AC-10's just kept knocking me over. An uncomfortable ride at 50kph+ (sways badly from side to side). Wolf's Draggons only (Merc. faction).
Devastator: The Awesome's bigger brother. Massive long-range sniping potential. Fed. Suns faction.
King Crab: 2xAC-20, looks cool as, variants available now or soon. I've had a lot of fun with it, even if it isn't the perfect 100-tonner. Com Guard & Draconis Combine (Ghost Regiments) factions.
Imp: Clan 2nd-line command mech downgraded to Inner Sphere tech. Not as good at range as the Devastator, not as good up close & personal as the King Crab (what is?). Wolf's Dragoons only (Merc. faction).
Voted for the King Crab, because I want it in the game, even if I don't ever pilot one. And voted Banshee because I like the variants better than the BNC-3E Steiner scout mech. :)

Torn between the Imp and Devastator, but ultimately went with the Devastator (Dual Gauss? Yes, please.)

Also, voted Banshee. The one that DIDN'T specify the BNC-3E, because that means I could, theoretically, say it was a vote for the -5S!!

How come the Mackie was not included? It should have been on the list.

Duuuuuude! Annihilator! and btw the LB 10-X AC's can fire long range slugs not just pellets, so it excels at long and short range, plus it looks sooo sexy :)

I know. I have seen them used in the table top game. They did well. Well, the opposing forces ignored them because there were other assaults also.

First things first: I had a hard time to vote for the 95t 'Mech. I mean, the Banshee is crap, but the BNC 3E isn't good either. And I really dislike the Banshee BNC 3E. In the end, I settled with the Banshee BNC 3E, because it appeared to be the most valid of all choices. (Sorry, if this joke was made too often already, couldn't help myself.

For 100t 'Mechs I went with the Devastator. It fits my bill quite well as I'm more into long range fighting than I am into close range brawling. Plus, it delivers a nice punch... uses Gauss, which I prefer over ER PPCs for sniping, and looks good. Sure, the other designs are pretty good as well (the exception being the Annihilator... I don't understand this design), but the Devastator is what I would want to pilot, if had to pick an assault for direct fire support or taking out the opposing force's brawlers.
