I'm actually wondering if MWO would develop an app. The app could be like a statistics page, personal profile, or even can be used ot monitor match scores and faction influence and progress through the communitiy warfare MWO world. If they want to get more ambitious, why not create mech hanger on your mobile so you can edit your mechs on your tablets and smart phones.

just to add, perhaps they can add score boards and clan/guild ranks

Great idea however what would be better is if we could link the app to your account and have life feedback of your mech and/or a live map so you could be moving while looking at your map. Right now opening the map in game cancels your movement abilities.

I would like an app on which you log on and:
- can configure + buy mechs
- chat
- score boards and clan/guild ranks.

So, mobile MechLab + stats. Easy to do, because mobile MechLab just needs nice front-end interface (we don't need 3d mech models there, just use your nice artworks) and send data to the database.

If you need hands for developement of such an app, I can help with front-end, just to make it done.

Just not IOS Only please! Yech! Should be designed to support WIndows Phone 8/Android/ and IOS.

EA did an IOS only app for managing their Hockey Ultimate team.

i did mention tablets and phones not just iphone and ipad XP

Pretty awesome idea you got there. I would gladly pay 5-10$ for a mobile mechlab. even if it wasnt directly linked to your account and was just for playing around with builds (viewing their Damage, Heat, and so forth). But linked to your accounts would be awesome-er.

that is exactly what i want to see, ive never made an app before, i only have experience with HTML 5 and CSS along with actionscript for flash

Rift uses something like this.. it posts when world events are happening as well as having things you can do off-line..kind of neat really..

I think they should focus 100% on bringing the game forward.
That's way more important than having a nice app to check your statistics...

Exactly, now they should just move forward with the game release etc.

Thats why I am considering making an web (+ mobile version) of the mechlab now, but don't have time for that until the next week. Hmm. Graphics... how does PGI look on it? Probably gonna ask them.

Would be easy for them to make one for android since its FREE to get the tools to make one. Apple on the other hand charges you to make an app for them as is why many apps that are on android are free and the same ones are not on iphone. Can't say for windows phone.....


as for on topic. I would love to see an app that allows you to see Faction Warfare status for your faction/merc corp. Also be able to chat with said members of your faction and corp.

I've been waiting a few months to see if anyone has noticed the Mobile App option in their profile, but so far this thread is the closest.

Go to your Profile > Forum Profile tab > Edit My Profile > Notification options.

There's an option for a Mobile App. So it appears that perhaps they are working on one. It's been there a few months, so we will see.....

I Know someone who has already created one and it looks great it lists all the mechs, weapons hardpoints and options has everything you could ask for. Its a really cool little app.

Would be extremely cool if they made the DB accessible with open protocols. So anyone could develop such apps for any device...

Windows Phone requires a dev license. I believe it is $99 per year(checked a very long time ago) and allows you to deploy 10 free apps to the marketplace with unlimited paid apps.

They may have lowered this cost to promote windows phone 8 and the windows 8 OS.

A nice simple web api would work with some options to retrieve XML data. However, they would have to put some limitations in place so noone spams the system.

Would never want to fully expose my DB to the web :-/
