Just kinda curious as to which variants will be available...

AWS-9M - The 9M is an upgrade of the Awesome that uses Star League technologies, and was introduced in 3049[5]. The 'Mech is built around a 320 Hermes XL Fusion engine, giving the 'Mech a top speed of 64.8 km/h. The heat sinks were upgraded to double heat sinks to allow this variant to be rearmed with three Fusigon Longtooth ER PPCs. The ER PPCs are backed up by two Hovertec Streak SRM-2s, a Magna 400P Medium Pulse Laser, and a Diverse Optics Type 10 Small Pulse Laser. BV (1.0) = 1,469[1], BV (2.0) = 1,812[9]

Never was able to stand the 9M. XL engines in a zombie like the Awesome is like taking a perfectly good taco and adding sand. But then, who knows if the XL engine's vulnerability will cross over into the vidya? Prolly not.

Not bad not going all out and saying great I think some of the others are better and certainly more true to the discriptions as well as having a similiar configuration to the past renderings. I do not understand the left arm in all the configurations I have never seen a hand present the arms were primarily for the PPCs or large lasers or a combo laser. Are the Developers suggesting they are going to introduce new variants to the game. This would seem like a giant leap from the holding to the facts especially the time line if they are going to stray from what the Mech could load out? Would love to know if this is tipping us off to new clues as to the thinking and how will this effect the play?

Thanks

Take another look at the original Battletech artwork on p.4 of this thread. The claw has always been there, except in the Mechwarrior games where there's no melee combat. The devs have already said in Q&A that melee combat is not expected to be part of the game at launch, but that they might look into it later.

The Awesome has always had a "battle claw," yes. Melee is not a part of the video games (unless you count MegaMek), but a very real part of the canon (Hatchetman, Axman, No-Dachi, Berserker, properly-employed 3025 Chargers and Banshees...)

Love this design, can not wait for the alpha strike to over heat my oponent. This mech could cook itself and pilot if he is not careful.

Looks allot like the MW4 version, except its missing a combat effective arm :/. looks like FD designed it to scoop up furries just like in one of those stuffed animal claw games.

I disagree with that. To me the shape is just the right balance between blunt force trauma and a slight conical section to aid in armor penetration when you put that battle fist through someone's mech.

no, there will not be trinkets and pink armor included for your lack of taste. sorry.

your funny...wait no your not...

By spice I mean actauly add creativity to the model. can find dozens "design" on gogole. If they were going with the basic boxy they may as well just purchase models on 3dsquid.

NICE... This mech will cut down the number of Atlas' we see on a drop. 1 It can tear them up at long range. 2 A bunch of assault pilots will have an additional mech to pick from.

At least this looks good, best looking redesign yet. At this rate of release of information the game should be out sometime before the Hanse Davion and Melissa Stiener wedding in 3028.

Um.... Bud... If you were planning on attending that event your about 21 years too late.... its 3049

She looks great for a Warhammer 40K. She looks more like the short budgy kid on the football team than a powerful direct fire support mech that she is. I think the legs should be bulked out a bit and the torso elongated a bit.
