Oh yea. Very cool rifle. And about the same effective range as the M1A. PSL has a thinner barrel though. So if you put 20 or 30 rounds downtrange in a hurry, your groups start getting wider. Probably by around 6-8" Theres actually a rifle called the Vepr that is the same rifle, but with a thicker barrel and reciever.Just a better finish overall. That'll run around $900.
Well worth every penny though. (if you can afford it) and still less expensive than the M1A.
The SVD, (wile it looks the same) is a completely different rifle. Similar look, but the internals are a lot better. Thats a $5,000 rifle though. Wile the PSL is something around $700 retail
I've been tempted to pick-up an AK also. Any recommendations on a quality manufacturer?five by five, on 01 April 2012 - 11:37 AM, said:
They are great rifles. If you want a top quality Ak then go for an Arsenal. There are a lot of them on the market right now, so you could get one for probably $800-$900.
The Arsenal Aks are also Russ made, (which is kinda cool) If you want something cheap, you could get a WASR rifle. That will run you just under $400 on average.
A lot of people complain about them, but i've had one for two or three years and it's never given me a problem. I think it's a luck of the draw on those. And think about it this way. For 400 bucks, I don't feel bad about beathing the crap out of that thing. But If my $900 Arsenal gets a scratch, I'll have a schizoid embolism.
ahh, so many nice rifles and mechs and so little time,... I really have to get my wife interested in either mechs or shooting. Maybe if the rabbits keep eating her garden!five by five, on 01 April 2012 - 11:37 AM, said:

when I signed up here they wouldn't let me have it so I went with wwiiogre or World War two Ogre because I play alot of wwii games and have worked in the tabletop industry as freelance in that genre as well.
Ogre has been my nickname since around 13 years old, it predates shrek and predates revenge of the nerds. Yes I am that old. I also had the nicknames Mongo from Blazing Saddles or Nighttrain. A few other expletives from family and friends.
