Hey, any room for another? I'd love to join in with you guys from the start this time rather than crashing near the end ><
I promise Thom won't need to worry about any LMGs strapped to my command couch - in 3031 'Spear is just organizing an escort job, or has just left depending on the month, for an expedition out to the periphery. That was supposed to emphasize a couple things about his character (Namely the 'Go big or go home' attitude and the fact he's a bit looney - they are after all, Rogue's Armoured Irregulars) but I (And Spear) was aware that the LMG was potentially dangerous on ejects - I justified it to myself with the fact assaults tend to have largish cockpits, and with sufficiently tight webbing it shouldn't increase the bulk too much (Of course, Spear isn't an engineer and weights never occurred to him - and his chief tech was done arguing). So there was some method in the madness.
I would, should I be allowed to join, ask to be allowed to pilot a heavy or assault (GMs choice) for a very simple reason: My Battletech knowledge is purely from Mechwarrior 4:Mercs and MechCommander 2, both of which are set in the 3060s. I simply don't know any 'mechs off the top of my head under the heavy class widely available pre clan invasion (excepting of course, the Urbanmech) and the only lights and mediums I tend to play are all either clan or from the 3060 era. If playing a heavy or assault is not okay, I'll take an Urbie since I have a decent degree of working knowledge of it.

Also, if this new thread isn't set too early, I can have one of Draco's early adventures here as well.

I'm also looking to join. Where would I post a character bio?

*nods* Me BT knowledge is not as in-dept as well. I think that is the fun of investigating further and unearthing the hidden treasures of Battletech. :D

There are definately some classics and antiques Lights and Mediums that deserve their day under the sun.

Have a look see. There will certainly be a light or medium you can imagine yourself piloting for a bit. Of course... you can always pilot an urbie...

(all love and support to sarna net)

Yep, I will admit that I'm not the guru to go to on lights pre clan inv.

Okay guys! OCC Thread is up! Feel free to post your characters. When Thom posts main thread (with the final title) please do NOT comment in there unless you've gotten approval of your character in the OCC thread by Thom or I.

We seem to have a fairly large group of people here so please keep some of the rules I outlined in the earlier posts (and in the OCC thread) in mind as you make your character and prepare to join in.

Also hang in there, Thom and I are working a lot of 12's right now so we'll launch soon!™

I've been reading on what you guys did in the Windborn Raven thread...and it was a pretty awesome read :) Although it got kinda confusing towards the end.

Looking forward to what you guys are going to do next. Makes waiting for the Wednesdays a whole lot easier!

Some really awesome writing skills there! I'm envious!

I can really get carried away scribbling-writing on thrown away paper when there's enough lying around. But its the 'typing it all down' thats so much work! *sigh* For the life of me, I will never learn to write-type.... nor do I wish to. :)

That's what I do, well used to do anyways. Now I type everything out on my gmail send it to my wife (editor) best friend (critic) and then I either copy/paste or play around with it some more.

Heh, I even bought a notebook to write down ideas, but never can get any peace and quiet... I tried going to the park but it was too damned windy, and that wind coming down from the mountains is COLD.
