I'm seeing more time than not that it is costing me as much or more to repair my mech than what I actually get in cash.

Why the heck are the repair costs so high?

Are you running FF armour, endo steal or XL engines? they all cost more to repair.

I pay 90k repair costs for a Jenner with a 300XL engine. No DHS, no FF, no Endo. If Endo, DHS & Ferro are increasing the costs of your Cicada, why the hell must I pay more then you with a lighter mech without much of your new tech?

I am ok with assault mechs being expensive to repair and hard to keep running. I love driving an atlas but I dont want them to become common.

@Red Dox
XL engine is new tech too - so it is expensive to repair.

Running lostech is no reason for higher repair bills. There are some negatives on running them (see; running out of critspace).

Yeah, but why do I pay more then mechs with same (or better) XL engine, better armour (Endo + Ferro) and "better" heatsinks (DHS)? And that mechs weight also more, may it be 5t for the Cicada or 15t for Low Wang. It doesn´t make sense.

Even without any of my body part's armor getting destroyed, I still pay 80,000-102,000 CBills every match for the Armor repair alone. I'm using Standard armor on an Atlas. I don't recall paying so much for repairs before this last patch. I can barely make a Million CBills in a night now with premium and founders Atlas.

The cost of repairs is out of control.

after the patch the costs explode.i mean it wouldnt be that much IF you will get a REAL bonus for kills and assists.
right now my ammo-bill is higher than anything else.when a match turns out good for me i have earned 50-80k c-bills.
if i die and everything went wrong i have a minus of 150k c-bills.

repair costs are not the problem...we need more chances to earn more money out of a match, like i said a bigger bonus for kills and assists for example.

Yea i've noticed that myself, i run a fairly simple fitted raven and its still taking about 80k or more to repair and reload. Just hope they got a fix for this or set it up to how it was before the patch.

I reckon this is the first time they've gotten the balance right. If you want expensive tech to give you a competitive advantage, you better bloody well not get a scratch on it.

If you win, you're still likely to get a positive cashflow; if you win with minimal damage - more. A few kills and some damage - more still.

The way things are balanced now; losing and dying is painful. when Community Warfare comes about; losing will not be an option.

I tested my Cent, Cat and Atlas and found in the Cent (~75k repair) and Cat (~95k) i make money, taking away my boni i still make money (each with ES and DHS).
The Atlas is a different story, its almost as double expensive (around 180k) as the others and i barely make money with all my boni on a win and a slight loss when losing.
But i am ok with that, the Atlas is meant to be economical inefficient.

Wow. I'm gonna have to start rolling with a team now of if I even want a chance now, huh?

A game needs to be balanced, but not to the point where if you lose consistently you can't play. Sounds like a steep learning curve to me. Or jut a straight up cliff.

Not quite because even in the few times I win without taking any damage in my Cat C4 with FF+ES I still pay 60-80k for ammo. I'm fine with the repairs if they up how much you can earn. I'm not saying a huge increase but as is right now even with no upgrades it sounds like you can make more in a trial mech.

The repair costs are straight up ridiculous. Paid 5000+ mc for an atlas k and seen 160k plus repair bills. It seems they are using the cost of repairs as an economy balance metric which does not really work. I don't think a player should ever lose money on a match. You can't punish players for a loss when many times its not within their control.

My repair cost = my prize Cbills (most of the time)

Once
Repair cost = 142k
Cbills prize = 139k

3k DEFICIT ;)
