If you take out.
-clan
-unseen & reseen
-tech after 3050

you get heavies few people have seen before, heavies hardly mentioned, heavies not seen in previous mechwarriors. i believe this is a topic of great debate, and possible the hardest weight class to select chasis' for. We have the most notable heavies of the time period. Other than that Comstar has the monopoly on heavies. Seriously, how does this work? We buy over priced rare 300 year old models from comstar? I am assuming the price will be production price and not antique price... because like i said, comstar has all the heavies.


i say this mostly because all the heavies in technical readout 3050 that aren't clan or unseen are (less than ideal). and ive still never heard of them. However i never heard of the comstar models, but they are way more Boss than faction heavies.

Personally, I'd rather have them add in all of the 'mech that HAVEN'T been seen in Mechwarrior games yet. And make the well-known 'mechs just as rare as they're supposed to be in the lore.

Yeah, the only heavies left after taking out clan, unseen, and limit to pre-3050 tech are:

Grand Dragon, Quickdraw, Axman, Catapult, JagerMech, Caesar, Cataphract, Guillotine, Grasshopper, and Orion, and that's just off the top of my head, I may have missed some. I wouldn't say that they're "hardly mentioned", the Grasshopper, Orion, and Cataphract, specifically, are all icons in their own right, and ComStar certainly doesn't have a "monopoly" on heavy chassis, except possibly the Guillotine, the rest are pretty standard in almost every house military.

I could really go for the Shugenja. There aren't very many 'mechs that mount MRMs, let alone MRM 30s!

Yes everyone loves the MAD-5R but its unseen/reseen.... and thats kinda my point, take out the unseen/reseen and clan heavies and you have leftovers.

I really don't mind usage of the revised 3025 TRO Star League downgrades (Champion, Lancelot, Bombardier, Exterminator, Guillotine, Black Knight, Flashman) as limited availability House army and Merc 'mechs.

I blame the poll makers for pitting it against Lostech energy weapon boats without specifying which variants would be used. In this case, feel free to override poll result to include the iconic and wrokhorse-like Orion.

Just accept the Orion is not that good, only really that popular because of the canon around it. The 'mech itself is pretty ugly, and sub-par.
