I believe the goon reputation has been earned from their philanthropic adventures and playing nice in games.

and if you believe that then go sit in the corner...

Do you think it might be because the code of conduct isn't very big on personal attacks? Especially when they have nothing to do with this game?

I had asked him the question already and he hadn't responded so I was repeating myself. I apologise if that was difficult to see.

So what you are telling me is being called a Goon is a personal attack? Or being the head Goon is a personal attack? Or being the Gooniest Goon even though the Goons allege they don't ruin games is a personal attack? A group of people who call themselves Goons who don't like being called the name they call themselves.....?..... This requires a double image of...

How is googling something thats publicly available a personal attack?

Because it's presenting something about that individual out of any context and, again, HAS NO RELEVANCE TO THIS GAME WHATSOEVER. Also, things being publicly available does not stop them from having other properties.

Calling goons goons is of course not an issue. Buddah was continuing his crusade to... I'm not even sure what his crusade was. It mostly seemed to be to point at goons and go "GOONS BAD!" with the flimsiest of justifications.

When I was reading the forums for Eve Online, while I was determining if I wanted to try it, I read quite a bit negative about Goons. So... I would not say Buddah's statements are not without some justification but I have not experienced anything bad that I am aware it was a Goon member.

It is just me looking into the fishbowl...

I was very annoyed when my cousin told me he was a goon.

He still hasn't gotten the insurance money from when his house burned down a few hours later.

This is it though - everyone's heard that goons do bad things but you can never find anyone complaining about goons that had something bad happen to them. Even then it's normally "they killed me in a way I didn't like" (which is tough luck) or "they scammed me in eve" (which in eve is entirely fair game). Most of the complaints I see on MWO are from people enraged that we drop as teams in this team based game, and that we sometimes type dumb **** in chat.

I can, but can you read? Also the " ' " mark exists for a reason. Can you figure it out? I can.

I have to agree with this statement. Complete with SQUWACKS and all, a team of 5 or 6 Goons were all playing as Splatcats last night and lucky for them it was a small map (River City). No one QQed to their credit. However, it was clearly a team designed to ruin peoples' fun because it makes little tactical sense to run all Splats and I seriously doubt it was a coincidence they all wanted to run Splats without coordinating it. I just weathered the storm and moved onto the next match. I have seen Goon teams that were all Raven 3Ls too. I still have fun so it is not necessarily a bad experience for me but for many people it is. I can see why they have the bad reputation.

People grouping up and running the same build is intended to maximise their fun, not diminish the fun of others. Running a bunch of SRM boats when SRMs are knackered couldn't even be called "cheese".

Yeah, I have absolutely no idea how an all-splatcat team could possibly be said to be intended to ruin others' fun. Unless maybe he was referring to to the goon's non-goon teammates. :V
