We knew this day might come. Though we hoped and prayed it would never happen, it has. Operation Binge and Purge is now in effect. All J4Gs and newbirds must be killed. I'm sorry for all the commanders who have gotten attached, but you knew what you were getting into when you made the rank of Quail.

P.S. Has anybody told Walter yet?

I've already began the burn procedures sir. On my command begin the execution. Command Code Alpha Zulu Squawk Niner Eagle has Landed.... It's been a pleasure Gentlemen.

Seriously? Again? I am growing increasingly tired of this.

"Jenny" says she's about ready to strangle whoever it is that leaked her memo.

He is going to be devastated that his newbirds are to be purged. I don't think the J4G's will bother him though he got pretty mad last night.

Goons, as a note worthy group of the community, how do you respond to the outcry of the public that the upcoming 1.4 DHS will be less effective than a 2.0 DHS?

One could argue that the name of this paticular item should in fact dissipate twice the heat than a normal Heat Sink, but it could be balanced with a downside, or a buff to single heat Sinks in regards to Standard Heat Sinks.

this would result in

Or, ya know you could just accept that SHS and DHS aren't supposed to even be remotely balanced vs each other, since most of the post-3050 game is designed around them being in 'Mechs.

It's like PGI suffered a massive fit of grognardian proportions and tried to make MWO 3050 gear with 3025 heat sinks.

Well it's not so much about balancing them towards each other, as in making Single Heat Sinks a viable choice and if it opens a way to add Clantech without making it into the TT Übertech, thats okay in my book. Cause gently caress canon.

I guess i should not spam this topic with stupid Heat stuff?

Nope it means that, by default, you are ruining the game. There is no off switch.

I like that this is recursive and have liked your post to tell you so.

Funny thing is, post-3050 SHS are just "vehicle heat sinks", as they can't mount DHS. DHS become the norm for 'Mechs and aerospace fighters, because even the Successor Houses with plot-stupid can't be that dumb. And as noted, you're a Goon, ergo it's all good.

Do Goons end up with a systematic testing arrangement for new/modified gear each patch, or is it pretty much collective play followed by private/public feedback on how it rocks/sucks/do not know if want?

We've still got nine 8-man lances going strong this Sunday night. It was a good weekend for squawking.

New open beta, same old goons.

For those just joining us or those who can't get into the original Ask A Goon thread to check, I represent a small circle of opposition to goonswarm and their anti-community, pro-griefing ways. Last month my sources within the Word of Lowtax were able to leak a "promotion chart" indicating exactly how goony a new recruit must be in order to rise within the ranks. Now, we have gone one step farther - we have now intercepted a high-level goon command-branch communication from the Mittani's office directly. We have taken the precaution of blacking out nearly all identifying material in the following screenshot in order to protect our sources, but have left enough of the UI and the logo in the top corner to confirm that this is really from the Word of Lowtax's private message board. I don't think I'll need to hold your hand and point out to you exactly why the goon activities detailed in this memo are banworthy. For reference, at the end of this post, I'm including the originally-leaked promotion chart.

Godspeed, fellow anti-goons. If the information in this memo is accurate, we are in for some dark times.

Oh pubbies.

I know I've replied to this already, but if we're going to talk about heat, here's some more bad opinions on it: http://themittani.co...-heat-sink-news

Melthir stated here, that "You squak generally if your enemy team is bad", so my question is:

What kind of sound do you make if your own team is bad? (Bad day, got up on the wrong side of the henhouse.. etc.)
