Hmmm...
I'm going to stick with the Urbie for a while. I'm kind of enjoying it and I can think of all sorts of reasons for the Jaeger to be out of commission for a bit. It's been out of commission for nearly ten years after all.
Besides, this stable only owns light and medium mechs so far, with the exception of Jack's two heavies. So Jack fights a few fights, wins all round (Though often by the skin of his teeth) and Erin decides to up the anté and get his heavies rolling now that the stable is getting noticed and Jack is earning his fee.
So she has the techs absolutely overhaul the Champion and the Jaeger.
Hey, Thom...DeMarkus want a shot in a Champion?

Oops, just realized I phrased that in the form of 'This is what's happening' and not 'Does the GM mind if this is what happens' xD
I'll commit the social faux pas and double post since Thom liked the post rather than editting it to say: Is that all right by the GMs?
Side note: Has anyone heard from Gozar in a while?

Well I was not unexpecting that. Sure he'll take you up on the offer. Especially when Kaylee's busy for a couple of weeks constructing some sort of Commando/Panther hybred. (Commanther or Panmando?) A light mech doing a 6/9 in a 3025 setting packing a PPC is very respectiable. He probably say something like;

"Oh's I's dunno man. You's sure? It's your's ride I'd don't awant to git it shot up."

Which version was it again? CHP-2N?

Yep, but it's pretty much missing all it's weapons. The two torso lasers were all I didn't specifically mention destroying. So long as Erin can fund it, it can be rebuilt into anything we want (Though something like an Endosteel skeleton would probably be a replacement gig - Jack didn't do quite that good a job!).

Thanks for letting me in. just wondering, but how should Maligo jump into the story? I was almost thinking that'd come down on a dropship and limp his damaged Zeus off of itand go from there.

Have you read from the start? Most of us pretty much wandered off a dropship, found a bay for our mechs and went from there.
Jack can probably be found drinking in Cherry Babies anytime you remind me to mention he's there.

No Endosteel at this time.... Hmm... if it was me I'd beef up the armor and pack on as many med lasers and heatsinks that I could. That sounds like the right thing to do in this setting.

Oh yeah and I did chat to Gozer a couple of days ago. Dude's just real busy right now. Working crazy hours like me, moving, and his wife is preggers. I think it's safe to say that he doesn't have plenty of time to spend on here.

That is entirely up to you. You could have yourself riding down on a dropship heading planetside. Already been hanging out on Solaris for awhile, laying low while looking for work. Both work and been used, the spaceports described in one of my early post.

Keep in mind Erin's goons are after you! LOL I feel like my old GM who would always tell his PCs that just being in his game meant you had a bounty on your head.

AzMan's place was called Cherry Blossom's not Cherry Babies... I'm guessing that pimpish owner of the chain of clubs has even more than we previously thought. lol

So it was - you realize your location is Cherry Babies though right? ^_^

I probably wouldn't want to med laser boat it. Jack would probably try and get an LBX-10 if he could, simply replace the AC-10 if he couldn't, replace the SRM and arm med lasers with a PPC or Large Laser, and nail on some armour and jumpjets. Are there any variants of the Champion with jets? I'm not sure. Any particular reason they couldn't have them?

LB10X-AC!!! I love that gun!!! Too bad it's unavailable.... I'll think of something half decent. Prob heavy on the energy weapons though... that AC10 eats up a lot of weight. And that Champion doesn't have much too play with to begin.

Argh! Just noticed we're in 3031. Bah!
*Spits*
I wanted my fun ACs. I mean, I love ACs of all shapes and sizes, but the LBX and Ultras amuse me far more than they should.

I have a bad habit of trying to solve every problem in every game with an autocannon. Once the LBX an Ultras come out, especially when clan tech (lighter, smaller) becomes available, it's very possible to do that.

EDIT:

D'oh, just noticed the guards were at the main entrance, not the sleeping quarters.
*Sigh*
Editting must be done...

I hope it's not too late to join, I love a good RP.

Name:Petrov Ivanovich Davoke.
Callsign:Zerstorer
Date of Birth/Age:April 2, 3009(22 years)
Current Mech:A well used Hatchetman, painted a deep crimson with dark gold stripes, has been modified to mount a small laser at the tip of the hatchet as a last resort weapon.
House Affiliation:Neutral
Military History:A mercenary pilot for various periphery states, captured a pair of Hatchetman mechs from a rival mercenary unit. This same unit eventually forced him off planet, so he took his two Hatchetman's with him. He decided on Solaris, arriving just two months ago. He sold one Hatchetman to set himself up for weapons and housing as a Solaris jock.
Physical Description:6'3", blonde hair, blue eyes, muscular, tanned. Has an almost constant look of coldness, but is usually pondering something or other. Has a large scar on his neck when a piece of shrapnel burst into his mech's cockpit in one of his first fights.
Open Background:Born deep in the FedCom, but was forced from his home when his parents were killed. He was adopted by his uncle, who was a hardcore merc pilot in the periphery. Davoke's first engagement was at 16, fighting a platoon of rebellious infantrymen. He fought his second at 17, and started to get into the merc business, often working with his uncle. His specialty is in machinery and weapons maintenance, which has given him the notion to tinker with his mechs and fit in extra weapons when possible. His uncle died in an engagement with pirates when Davoke was 20.
Deep Background:His Uncle sacrificed himself and his mech to save Davoke and an associate merc. Davoke loved his uncle as a father, and has never gotten over it. (The other pilot is now Davoke's mechanic, helping him with upkeeping and tinkering with his mech's.)
EDIT:
Assorted Mech Weapons:(things to tinker with)
SRM6, LRM10x2, AC5x2, AC10, AC20, Medium Laserx5, Large Laser

Character Equipment:Claymore(sword), SMG, black leather bomber jacket, aviators.

Oh, before I pull out any more weapons or wargear, I do have a list of gear that Jack's carrying about. Half of it is just to fit the crazy image, some of it is just because Jack just plain likes it, and the rest is gear he's actually used. He has a few swords and knives, including the claymore, a pair of ornate revolvers he looted, a laspistol, a pair of autopistols and an SMG, and a disposable SRM tube for weapons, the ringmail and a targe (Small Scottish shield with a spike in the centre)he looted from the same museum he got the revolvers, and flak armour fatigues. He has reloads for all the guns, but not the SRM.
I wrote it down a while back after doing a couple of rolls and staring at the weapons list in the Inquisitor's hand book. I meant to discard some of it, but then I figured Jack probably wouldn't throw any of it away. It fits his image too well. Thom/Gozar feel free to veto (Also good to hear he is still kicking, congrats on the baby Gozar!).

Damn.... and all D has is a needler. LOL you looted a museum? That's awesome!

Just as good as during the Windborne Raven that Thom told Lina about how the merc group he used to run with robbed a bunch of jewelry stores and banks.

Out of curiosity, where are you keeping all this stuff?

Was thinking about giving D some Russian prison tattoos. I figured in the novels I've seen yakuza and what looked like the Italian mob, why not add in the Russian mob as well. Maybe I'll save that for another RP....

Well he was a pirate...I kinda saw him as a little elitist, since he was former nobility. Not that he told anyone else that. They just thought it was Mad Jack being Mad Jack. Plus, museums own some shiny things.
Most of it is in the blue chest. The claymore doesn't fit - he just tends to sling it wherever it'll fit. So far as he's concerned, it's just enough that he has it, rather than where it goes. He doesn't have a permanent place to put it since he moves about a lot. He got it specially - but that's a story I'm not ready to tell yet.

EDIT: Would a Russian Mafia past fit DeMarkus? Will it tell a story? Add to him? Does he need the extra depth? If any applies, go for it. If it doesn't, save it for someone else. There's nothing worse than suddenly realizing you tinkered too much and suddenly don't like your character!

Nah I'm going to save it for someone else. D is too much of a nice guy (for the mostpart) I'm just like the idea of a Russian mob character. Must be because I watched 'Eastern Promises' (good movie) the other day....

Oh yeah and awesome post Rogue.

Well she started out as nothing more than a LOKI agent working in the spaceport looking for 'possible troublemakers and threats.' A PC (the absent Mr. Kevin Kirnov) developed her further, making her a fairly high ranked LOKI op who's bright idea was to start Rainbow stables, build up a champion loved by the people, then have him killed, hopefully triggering riots on Solaris which will trigger another succession war. (well that's what I got out of it anyways.)

She's now currently running all LOKI operations on Solaris. There's more to it, but I don't want to ruin anything...

Oh good post BTW. Boreal Ranch nice. And it's always nice to not be the only character sleeping in the cockpit of his mech.

And thank you for moving the date to the 19th!
