Glad to hear from ya.

If ya need any graphic work or 3D filler, lemme know :P

Will do, though it seems unlikely at this stage. We've got the same problem most game developers find: too many artists, not enough programmers. We've actually sent a couple of our artists to programming school so they can program for us.

(On that note, if anyone has experience programming in C# or Unity, let me know)

I've had a *very* brief exposure to C# via Unity, but given that I'll be repeating a single module next year, if you don't mind one of the world's least competent programmers doing some minor work for you anytime Aug 3rd onwards, let me know.

Thanks Cobalt. It's always great to hear kind encouraging words from anyone who takes the time to read this story we're weaving.

I was kicking around the idea of writing a FF/SS story about when Thom goes to Solaris and finally meets his father. I quickly dismissed it after thinking about having to type out an entire conversation with that crazy Warlockian accent. It scares me because after typing out a lenthy conversation with either Thom or D in it I want to keep typing like that... and the other day I caught myself talking like that.

FF/SS?
I've been having the same problem with Jack. Only reason I don't keep using it all the time is because I keep catching myself using it with Erin or whoever he talks to/in the narration/etc xD

FYI guys I'm going to advance the date to the 19th... we've been on the 18th for way too long.

If your in a time sensitive position or have any plans for your character on a certain date, please try to wrap it up... Or you can always be like D'Markus, chowing away at dinner thinking about the events of the previous few days. Thanx!

Hey Chaos, gotta ask is there any particular direction you want Elisabeth and Rick's interaction to go? Where would you like the repairs to be? I know with a full crew you can usually get repairs done in a few hours, but when it comes down to two people and a case of beer, I guess you could say it comes down to destractions. Since we're in a date-jump, I think it's a good opportunity to work out the kinks in the mech and maybe take another step in using this encounter to advance Liz' story.
(Dont worry about Rick, he doesnt have much a story to tell... yet :P )

Yeah I was waiting for the day to tick over as well...
Any plot plans I should be aware of btw? Otherwise I'm probably going to have Jack sit the next week out on his crutches, get him dressed nice to make the big public apology on the 21st, and aim to get him into a match before the 30th.
P.S. Still wondering what Thom meant by FF/SS xD

FF/SS Fanfic/shortstory.

Plot plan for D'Markus is he shows up at the Stables, I go into detail about the living arangements. I was thinking of have a dorm style housing where there's four people living in the same area, but they all have seperate rooms, two of them share restrooms. There will also be a large common room with small kitchenette attached. Was thinking about having Jack across the hall from D. This should make character interactions way more common and from the Rainbow's point of view help create that bond to forge some type of teamwork between the characters.

Also, when D finally gets up to his room, he's finding out that he has fight on the 20th, some random next to never heard of arena. So on the 19th he takes a trip out to the arena and checks the place out, then a feast, and the next night his fight. After that assesments on his two mechs (yeah he's winning, though its an unorthodox and controversial win. Which gets him some media time.) He then works over the details on customizing One-Eye with Kaylee...

Thought I may try my hand at this:

Name: Maligo Valletudo (Mali for short)
Callsign: Sponge (Named that for his ability to seemingly osmotically soak up information)
Date of Birth/Age: April 1, 3005
Current Mech: Currently owns a (stolen) ZEU-5S Zeus, but due to a combination of the mech being salvaged from a battlefield without being repaired, and poor jury-rigging, the mech is impounded until Maligo can earn enough money to effect the necessary safety upgrades, plus upgrades to meet Solaris Arena regulations. Until then, he's hoping to be lucky enough to borrow a mech
House Affiliation: No official affiliation, but sympathetic to the Free Rasalhauge Republic
Military History: After spending several years acting as a quality control tester for Defiance Industries, Maligo is familiar with the controls of a Battlemech, and can operate one at a fairly advanced level, but has only participated in several mock battles and only one active occurance of open combat
Physical Description: Maligo is not the typical Mechwarrior. At around 5' 9", he possesses a very thin frame, with very little muscle showing. He keeps his brown hair short, but it is often messy, a side effect of the time he spent with his mech's neurohelmet. On the back of his left hand, he has a prominent scar, the remnants of a burn from an exposed heat sink. He has brown eyes, and usually carries a set of goggles on his forehead.
Open Background: Born on Tukayyid, Maligo attended a public high school and graduated in the higher grades of his class. It was during the summers that he worked that he discovered his love for operating and maintaing the Aggromechs on his family's farm. After graduation in 3022, Maligo moved out to Hesperus II in order to attend an industrial university, and earn his degree in mechanical engineering. During his time in university, a Defiance Industries scout noticed his affinity towards mech operation, and offered him a job in Defiance after he graduated, which he promptly took in 3026. After impressing his managers in the industrial works division, Maligo was eventually transfered to the Battlemech production division, and worked his way up to being a quality control tester, running newly produced mechs through their paces before shipping them off to their clients. In 3030, Maligo accepted his first team leader assignment, and was attached to a Lyran unit as the leader of a field technical support crew. While on mission, Maligo and his team decided to accompany a rescue squad in an attempt to aid the occupants of a crashed Hrothgar Dropship. All records after this point stop, as Maligo's team never returned and all members of the mission as well as the dropship were presumed to be killed in action.
Deep Background: During the mission, it was found that the dropship had been set upon by a small, covert Free Rasalhauge force. While his Lyran escorts held out for a small amount of time, they were eventually overwhelmed, and Maligo's team was captured. When captured, Maligo presented himself as a citizen of the Republic, but the soldiers did not believe him. Facing summary execution as a spy, Maligo managed to escape, planning to hijack a mech from the dropship and rescue his team. In the dropship, Maligo used his technical expertise to “hotwire” a Zeus ZEU-5S, and attempted to turn its weapons on the Rasalhauge force, despite the majority of the mech's ammunition having yet to be loaded. Using the small opening of the dropship's bay to his advantage, Maligo managed to down a pair of Panther light mechs in the bottleneck of the , and proceeded to emerge and destroy several tanks and a Hunchback, while sustaining critical damage in the process. As soon as the enemy dispersed, Maligo exited the mech to search for his team, only to find that he had killed them when he destroyed the tank they were sheltered behind. Knowing that as a civilian engaging in armed combat, he had violated the Aries Convention, he needed to disappear before he was arrested, and proceeded to do minimum repairs on his stolen Zeus, and left the planet bound for Solaris

Just a quick question though for the Zeus. I love the fins on the Zeus-X, but I know it hasn't been produced yet in the timeline. Could I just say that my character bolted on some identical fins for asthetic purposes?

Don't forget, Bertie isn't a swingin' bachelor, you'll be kicking it with Bertie and his six year old daughter.

Hmm, wonder if she'd like to learn violin...:P

Now would be an awesome time considering D & K passed out on the bed with the door open... Not sure if I had Von Bremen shut the door. Or you could bump into Kaylee as she's sneaking out early in the morn...

Oh and @ Sage. Like your character. Welcome aboard. And I see no problem with having cosmetic attachments on your mechs, within reason of course.

Actually, good point. I hadn't noticed the date was the 18th, not the 19th.
If I go with the original plan you may be woken up...
To be subtle or not to be subtle...that is the question.

EDIT:
Wait, are we allowed the heavier mechs now?
JAEGERMECH HERE I COME

JAEGERMECH HERE I COME

Well I was planning on him getting woke up early anyways... So feel free. Planning on having Jack stumble in drunk out of his wits with a couple of broads?

As for the heavier mech issue, (I hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the a$$) I see no problem in allowing heavy (only Heavy) or the parts that you needed to fixed your heavy if you are an original character and been spending time ingame waiting or searching for whatever parts you may need to fix them. That being said, the Dropship carrying Jack's gyro finally arrives on Solaris, or he takes the gyro from the Champion and gets it hooked up to the Jaeger... I think they are compatable, yes they are, just looked it up.

As for the guys with the deep pockets and had two mechs (as in Dylan's case with the Warhammer) in fighting condition. You can use them, just don't go overboard with Stackpole Syndrome. (i.e. every mech you shoot epicly explodes, or you get into mechfights and come out on top in ways that would make Kai Allard jealous.)
