General question here:

given there are so many players, should our opening scenes be gravitating towards each other or are our GMs happy for multiple narratives to develop?

Name .............................. Rick Turven
Callsign .......................... "Mop-Boy"
Date of Birth .................. July 3, 3004
Battlemech .................... ARC-2R Archer
Affinity ............................ Merc
Rank ............................... Civilian Contractor
Title ................................ Mech Engineer
Current Residence ...... Cockpit of his mech

However, his days as a mechwarrior are still new, and most of the money he recieves are for giving kids rides and photos than of actual mech piloting. His ARC-2R Archer is still in dis-repair, with no ammo in it's LRM 20s and many holes in it's armour, still having the 'SCRAP' stencil across the chest...

*Tsk tsk tsk* Seriously? Another guy with a Heavy. Now what did I say.. .*Pauses as Thom whispers in his ear.*

Really? Seriuosly? Fine...

APPROVED!

Seriously though don't expect that Archer to be worth pretty much anything any time soon. :)

We have one last floater running around in here... where is he where is he... ah Janitor! You are also moved to

APPROVED!

I figure since we let Thom's choice through might as well let you in too.

That's it guys! The Velvet rope is now closed! No more. 20 is a very high limit and we're basically at it! Now lets see how well we can herd you cats.

I think we're good with you being free form right now as it should start becoming apparent how we want you to start gathering together. B)

I see some nice "meetings" approaching. Cherry babes is one. The Auction house seems like another. Two different teams at least forming up. :)

I think having two teams of players against each other could be very interesting, depending on what the GMs think. One of the best tabletop RPs I've ever been in was one where we had two GMs and two groups of Inquisitorial Acolytes (We were playing Dark Heresy) with one GM and one team in each room, with the GMs leaving once in a while to talk...really built the suspence, and of course, shenaniganery...
Depends what our gracious hosts are willing to put up with though!

Great two different teams, and I'm caught in the crossfire, oh hell I guess I better figure out which side I'm going to be on.

*shrugs* I wouldn't mind. But I must say you, my friends, are weaving this tale as much as I am.

I'm not too hot on the idea of two stables competing against one another. I'm pretty sure someone would get butt-hurt because their character's ride and pride (hey that rythmed) got shot up...

Plus the rules (from what I remember) from the MW2 rpg listed as combatants paying 5Kc-bills, and they played for pinkslips. Yes they played for keeps.. and if someone was to back out of a match they could, but they had to pay a 100K fee.

That doesn't mean start your own mech collection!!!!

Just something too keep in mind.

That being said, if someone has a reason to blow Rick 'Mop-Boy' Turven up in his wreck of a mech (Hey, that ryhmes too!) I dont mind. Someone's gotta be the loser and I'll gladly play the part. Besides, Everyone loves a good underdog!

Since in RP April 4th has lasted for two or three RL days, I'm gonna flip the page to crack of dawn April 5th, someone can slide some last few things if they see fit.

Yeah I'm gonna be doing that as well, it's just gonna be odd when I make my post and it seems like my dude takes a couple of days to get from one place to another. But I could always make my post super long to fill in the lost days with random stuff.

April 4th, headed off to huge mech depot, made contact.
April 5th, spent the day unsuccesfully trying to get ahold of said contact. went to another mech auction.
April 6th, Got call from contact, set up meeting. Celebrated by going to Cherry Babies. Saw Azman's character go-go dancing
April 7th, had meeting. now owner of shot up POS mech (I'm looking at you Assassin!)
April 8th, did his damnest to get a spot in a bout

Yeah, you get the idea...

Gmail here. I email whatever I write to my best friend (who's being a slacker right now.) and my wife, my biggest fan and editor.
