Samuel should be in his early sixties I think with a minimum of twenty of those years being his current career on Solaris, I have a detailed biography for him if you would like it Thom, but I was planning on revealing some more of his history as things progress.

No need to send me anything.... If he's been doing it for 20+ years he would have had run ins or buisness with Gray Noton, who was doing the same thing for years too....

A lone elemental even without power armor is still an eightfoot tall man with muscles that would rival a Greek Gods... I'm pretty sure he will stick out in a crowd of average 5'10'' people...
And cellular phone services would only work on one specific planet. i.e. Solaris 7. That being said I suppose you could always keep your phone on your travels and get a new provider when you changed planets.

EDIT: Also, the difference between a sniper rifle and a hunting rifle is a very thin line - often simply down to the time period. The Kar98k and derivatives of the G43 (Improved versions) are both widely available as hunting rifles - in WWII, both were used as sniper weapons. Being American, you're probably confusing the Barrett with a sniper rifle - the Barrett is an anti-material rifle. It's job is to take out targets that needed to die yesterday, through whatever they're hiding behind, and is also used to kill LAVs and equipment.
Not trying to be racist there, I've a tonne of American friends from having lived over there, and a lot of them, even the gun nuts assume anything smaller than a Barrett is not a sniper rifle.
In reality, the difference between a sniper rifle and a DMR is basically nil. The DMR tends to be shorter ranged and have a faster rate of fire, due to being expected to engage in close proximity as well as at extreme range.
I'd also like to point out, and really trying not to be an *ss here, but the GMs asked us not to throw 'big stuff' into the mix, and there were zero threats to the rainbow stable before your assassin showed up - who showed up before exactly half the standing compliment of mechwarriors the stable now boasts had even joined it. I get more than most throwing a monkey wrench into the GMs plot and doing your own thing, but it's generally considered polite to give them the chance to introduce it first!

Agreed, I meant more that it seems wrong for this RP do have characters with too much support or power at their disposal. At least at this point, who knows, maybe later things will be different.

Depth doesn't always equate to more action however, I would agree you have added more action to the intelligence game, but in regards to depth I don't find that is the case.
For example if we are discussing depth I would rate The Spy Who Came in from the Cold by John le Carré as having far more depth than almost all of the Bond novels, yet it has comparatively little action.
le Carré(who worked for MI6 before eventually becoming a writer) has some nice statements in regards to being a spy/intelligence operator:
''It would be terribly boring if people knew how boring my life had been in intelligence.''
"I have been in that world for almost half a century and once in it, you get a notion of what constrains you and what doesn't. The idea that people just go around shooting and killing people and so on is crazy."
Similarly, given Dylan's stated goal of being in the IS, I just don't understand his logic or actions. I mean if I wanted to observe another society or culture, I would try to be a less than noticeable observer, I would certainly not put myself into situations that place me in the center or near the center of attention. (Look historically at some of the greatest spies, they often used rather "boring" cover)

I strongly agree with this post.
The whole "Assassin Affair" feels like something that changes the nature of the plot far too much(suddenly all of RB needs to be worrying about assassins) and generally in my view occurs way to early in the RP(going against the "start small" idea presented at the beginning of the RP.
Furthermore, Rainbow Stables are barely known at this point, bar one less than positive PR incident and their mech pilots are all relatively new/unknown on Solaris
At this point should we not at most be setting up other branches of the plot? (i.e. essentially exploring things which may have an effect later in the RP)
--------------------------------------------------
I hope I don't cause offense with this post, but I feel that honest opinions, discussion and criticism are useful for any RP to flow well.

EDIT: Jeremy, just to double check times aren't being confused here, the night Jack was in watching you was the 19th, so you're posting on the same day before that. Just in case you were looking for it to be the night after - I've a hangover, so if I'm being daft, feel free to let me know xD

Still waiting to see if Izzy replies to Bertie. Otherwise, I'm good for the switch.

Though his door is open, so he could already have arrived in - I intend to have Jack keep his door shut whenever he isn't about, to stop people prying - quite as easily at least

I'll scribble something up later, and then be good to go. Expect Jack to be traumatized at the entrance of a 6 year old girl to the dorm.

Figure she got bored while you're moving everything in and just curled up on the couch. Then you came by and tossed a blanket over her. I know for a fact that I hate moving my 6 year old when she passes out in random places.

I figured it was the best way to have D check if you're there without making a ruckus and waking the girl. I'm guessing that you missed her being preoccupied with the embarassment of your apology. Or in the quest of getting drunk. As for the door being open, maybe Dan or someone was looking for you? And thought you were passed out drunk.
