Whelp, I have no ideas still guys.... I do apologize, but between writers block, anxiety for college, packing -leaves august 3rd-, and my internet no longer working like I would like it to, I am going to have to step back for a bit. Feel free to NPC frederick and his nutcase super-clingy large bust, blue dyed hair, annoying, hyperactive, tsundere girlfriend who should show up in a week or two, and such and so forth until I manage to get things together again.

I apologize once again :/

I didn't really have any plans on there being a mess hall.... But the building is large enough, they have enough workers to warrant one, and they do have the finances, so I guess there's one now!

Oh yeah, somebody. One of the clerks, or interns are going to be going around with a paper with the character's names on it. Basicly it's a list for your characters to listdown whatever groceries you want delivered to you. (Jack can't order booze though, per Erin.) The cost of the groceries will be deducted from your pay.... Just thought it would be something they would offer to 'ease the burden of getting groceries' AKA LOKI being about to keep a very close eye on you, and deter assassination attempts while your at market.

Name: Jebediah Saint

Callsign: Bad Company

Date of Birth/Age: 3023/26yrs old

Current Mech: None.

House Affiliation: Circinus (No longer asociated), Professional Merc

Military History: Bought from circinus slavery at the age of 6 by his own father, he was brought up in a warzone, taught guerrilla tactics, explosives, IED's, and recon, trained by his father in mech piloting, constantly drilled until he left to find his own way. incapable of becomming a proper mechwarrior because of his inability to read, he hunts them on the ground as part of a jump platoon.

Physical Description: 6'5" 200lbs with black hair, a square jaw, and snake like, ice blue eyes, wide shoulders, large muscles, and a large scar on the side of his head from when an IED his father was teaching him to create exploded at the age of 8, disfiguring him for life.

Open Background:
  •
Jebediah Saint was born in the Circinus System, his father was a lyran mercinary and his mother a lyran farmer. During his childhood, the backwater state of his birth was a small and undesirable place with little industry beyond the cattle and food distributed and shipped to other holdings for modest fees. Living life without a father, and too young to provide any sort of help on the families farm, he was forced to sit and watch as a wasting disease slowly destroyed his mother and left he and his sister desolute without hope of salvation. The Circinus Federation took the farm and was ready to sold his sister into slavery, before he himself was also bought by a mysterious man.
  •

  •
At the age of five, an orphan, Jebediah was convinced his life was destined to be a servent, cruely treated, abused and misused. Life took a strange turn indeed when he was revealed to have been bought by his own father; though it was too late for his sister, whom he never saw again.
  •

  •
His father, for his part, was barely better than the fantasized owner who would treat him like a posession. Treated more like a constant obstacle than a child, he was given little quarter, punished regularly with beatings and starvation, he was taught to hate authority, rather than respect it. But still, it was his father, and he always did his best to please him, even though he suffered from alcohaulism and forced him to steal for his food. At the age of six, Jebediahs efforts was bent towards destruction, as his father quickly immersed him into the world of Guerilla Warfare. Taught to place explosives, kill with a knife, and find no humanity in his enemy, He learned his lessons quickly and efficiently. His father would often times buy him pets, allow him to become emotionally attatched, only to force him to kill it. Soon, Jebediah learned not to find solace in the companionship of others, because he never knew when he must kill them for reasons he did not understand.
  •

  •
When he was eight years old, he was inducted into the Illyrian Offensive of 3034,and, as a child warrior, he helped to defend and bog down the helpless boarder world from the McIntyres attack.
  •

  •
After the federation retreated, his father continued his training in the arts of war and guerilla operations, moving from the Palintines worlds to the world of Dersidatz in 3036 at the age of ten, and continued his training there, fighting and killing full grown adults with improvised explosives, booby traps and deception tactics. four years later, the resistance had all but failed, though his fathers merc unit continued operations when a group of Black Warriors attempted to seize power in 3040.
  •

  •
When he was thirteen he began training in the operations and piloting of battlemechs and their weaknesses and vulnerabilities in fighting them on the ground. Constantly drilled day after day, he was keenly trained. Eventually, by the time Jebediah was fifteen, he was taller, stronger, and better trained than his own father, with little regard for life.
  •

  •
Finally able to defend himself from his fathers brutality and free himself from a lifetime of sensless slaughter, Jebediah Saint, at the age of sixteen, killed his own father with a trenching shovel after a particularly violent drinking benge. A crime of passion, the body had to be gene-coded to determine the identity, but by the time the results were in, Jebediah was gone, with his fathers money and a hover carrier, he had absconded off planet to see his own destiny.
  •

  •
Things happen when you spend days alone in a cargo hold, afraid to ask for help because you never know when your past might come back to haunt you. You start looking back at your life and remembering things that once made you smile.
  •

  •
After a long talk with a ship chaplain, he finally could find solace in the things that had happened to him at the hands of his own family, the Circinus Federation, and life itself. Breaking his fathers cycle of self destructive violence and alcohaulism, he took a vow between himself and god; he would never again harm someone who didnt deserve it, he would never again hurt another animal, he would never drink or allow his judgement to become hampered by drugs and alcohaul. he would from that point on, let morality and sound judgement guide him, and listen to whats left of his scarred and brutalized concience.
  •

  •
And, for the first time since before his mother died, he slept soundly. Though he still ran, moving constantly, never looking back, from ship to ship, refusing to steal for food but instead looking for low-profile low-wage jobs that kept him from the lime light, mechanic, myomer repair technician, farmer, or recycler, until finally, when he was eighteen years old, he found himself in employment of a merc company in need of mech hunters. without much of his own, and no battlemech to speak of, he quickly integrated himself into his new role with a new unit, anonymously blending in, but not for long.
  •

  •
Soon his rabid determination to succeed and his unnaturally accurate knowlege of the weak points in a battlemech set him out as not being a rookie at all, but instead, a seasoned veteran who had decieved those who hired him on about his abilities. Catching the attention of the command, he was soon ordered to report to the Company Commander... And so now, he waits, with bated breath, quiet, unsure, and tired of lies, he resigns himself to his fate, hoping that at long last he can be free from his past completely, whether it catches up to him, or not.

@ Jeb lovely character, with a great detailed military history. But there's a problem; this RP takes place in 3031. Jeb is only 5 years old at this time... You may be looking for the 'Nothing ever goes as planned.' RP which should be getting rebooted soon. That RP takes place in the mid to late 3040's.

Or you can always edit the dates you have listed in your character bio...

Also, this particular RP doesn't have much room for non mechwarriors - the Solaris Matches don't tend to have infantry running about!
Unless you want to be a saboteur...

Well he could always get a job doing something. He's got tech know how, good with all sorts of weapons, and he does have some mechwarrior skills even if he can't read... He could get a job as a saboteur (I think Erin would like that) or a security guard or tech.

Interesting character in general but I find the last part a bit odd.

"Unnaturally accurate knowledge of the weak points in a battlemech" strikes me as odd, as in what way his knowledge of battlemech weak points unnatural?

Otherwise I would just like to point out that whilst one surely learns a lot fighting mechs on foot, it would still logically prove a daunting task to learn how to pilot one, considering most competent mech pilots have trained for years even to reach an "average" level of skill.

I have to point out you cannot do more than walk a mech in a direction and pull the trigger if you can't read. All those panels and switches have writing on them, and no raw newb knows every single one of them by heart. Also, in his detailed background, his dad teaching him to pilot a mech is never covered - and from what I've read you can't have a neuro helmet attached until 16+ (At least that's why I assume all the mechwarriors trained from birth, even the clans seem to start live training in mechs at 16). So without changing agesI guess he'd be stuck piloting industrials?

Really never heard about that... I'm thinking that the "Unnaturally accurate knowledge of the weak points in a battlemech" could be like the Chick from Victor Milan's BT novels (which I really didn't care for BTW and don't recommend)

Basicly she just realy studied tech manuals and was able to pop open access panels and cripple them.

I'm one of the first chapters of I think it was 'Close Quarters' she jumped off the roof of a building onto a Battlemaster's shoulder, popped open a panel by the cockpit which popped open the cockpit, she then killed the pilot with a vibro-knife.

Mary-Sueing at it's finest/worst.

Question: How much trouble does Jack get in for immediately murdering anyone who attempts such a thing?
Also, I thought all access hatches and things had locks - electronic ones.
Can Jack strap hand grenades to all access panels with a small wire attached so anyone who tries to pop one open in combat gets a frag surprise?

I'm perfectly cool with that. And you would think that the hatches would be sealed against outside tampering, especially while your stomping around in your mech blasting things with your PPC....

Not gonna lie, I have no problem with Jack being the tool the GMs use to remove any character they feel is stupid. I think I set him up as loopy and uncivilized enough to do it...
Also, seriously, can I trap my mech if we ever go into combat? I'm thinking barbed wire boots and electromagnets that randomly reverse polarity stuck to the hull.

*Nonchalantly hands Jack a list with player's names scribbled down on it*
