If that is the case in MWO, I suspect it is an MWO bug. All mechs, regardless of chassis, should have the same number of crit slots available. I'd submit a bug report to support@mwomercs.com

Would be possible just to update the old one to contain all newest mechs and bugfixes?(In my version CTF 4X has one energy slot in CT while it should have two)

The 4X should've been fixed a while back, what version are you running?

Now I don't have to boot up my Windows 7 desktop in order to experiment with mech builds.
Thanks!

But about CTF 4X I could use latest version 5.3.21,the problem is it doesn't contain Dragons Flame/Fang for example :/

What happens:
Upon running the .jar file in Java i get a .5 second "thinking" wheel, followed by a whole lot of nothing.
I am running Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium
Steps already taken:
I have set compatibility settings to run java in admin mode.
I have uninstalled all versions of java and made sure to reinstall java 64 bit through internet explorer 64 bit.
I have followed other posts in this guide and directed the file to open with the javaw.exe application in the /bin folder.
I have even made sure to update my .NET framework via some troubleshooting guides online.
Nothing seems to help.
If there is anyone out there whos an expert on java troubleshooting, let me know, ill be happy to get together with you in a TS3 server or something to get this hashed out. Thanks! Will check back here for suggestions or follow up questions.

You are using the old Mechlab, I stopped adding support for new mechs within the old Mechlab. Sorry, but to mess with the Flame/Fang you have to switch the new Mechlab.
I will be removing the old Mechlab completely with the next update and adding a stripped down version of the new GUI for those that don't need the excess of information given.

I am having an issue too, I pretty much did all the same steps as above, but when I try to run the mechlab application, it tells me 'could not find main class.' and then lists the path to the .jar file.
Any ideas? I would love to run this, it sounds ideal to tinker with the mechs without committing to anything in the real mechlab. Thanks very much for your efforts!!!!
Kind Regards,
Fred

Download both the 32-bit and 64-bit version installers and see if that fixes anything.

Well,if so please design the GUI correctly,as the current one is unusable in 1024x768 resolution due to lack of layouts.
And the best option would be to change both mechlab versions to use external xml file as mechs' database, that'd make adding new mechs much easier.

So MasterBLB, when is your MWO Mech design program you are writing for low spec machines going to be ready for me to test?

The compact one was meant to lower the resolution and memory usage, it just won't have all the fun stuff.
I don't remember offhand, but the resolution of the Compact GUI was between 800-900 in width, and around 512 in height.

I don't know about it being the best option, because then sharing one variant becomes a huge problem between users, because all variants are in one xml file. Saving isn't a problem, just save all necessary variables to a binary file and your done, it is the loading process that requires more thought.
