Oh. It's trial mech diskussion time again. Though we were over it by now. But ok....
Trial mechs cannot and will nocht be competitive with costumizable ones because they are not supposed to be. Let's summuarize why this is so.
This videogame is supposed to be fun for us players and pay the rent for the developpers.
In order to do so it would be very unwise to implant trial mechs in which you acutally can win a lot. Do you want the scene to be ruled by trial-premades? I don't think so. Does Piranha want trial mechs to be a real competition to those mechs you either grind for and fill their game with live or even pay for? I serious don't think so.
This is not what was meant to be in the first place.
Why else buy a mech for? EP? Equippment? Cusomization? What for if this doesn't make you better in the game? If I'd be able to win in trials (not once or so but on a regular bases, no matter the circumstances) I'd stay with it or not?
Trial are more of an internship. You get to know the company, see the different departments, just to give you a real insight in how things are done around the place. But most of he time you're to be sweeping the yard with your teeth brush.
And that's ok, since trial time is short enough not to bother.
So all in all threre're three types of players out there:
1. Sir Cryalot who don't get the point what trials are meant to be, and who wants them to be average mechs in which it is fun to play without thinking about any consequences.
2. Sir Dreamalot who is fed up with Sir Cryalot's complaints and seriously claims that trial mechs are average mechs in which it is fun to play. Not because he doesn't know what they are for, but simply because of the fact, that he does have a customizable and every trial mech he shots ought to have had a fair chance.... so basically for his good conscience.
3. Sir Playalot who ist aware of the fact that trial mechs are walking trash cans but simply doesn't care. Sir Playalot keeps focussed buys his first costumizable mech as soon as he get's the chance. He does not gloryfies himself for every trial mech he kills in the field, but he has also no mercy with them because this is the way things are done piloting a battlemech.
So... which type are you?
