Actually I made a prediction as to how I figured the conversation was about to go. And low and behold, that is exactly how it went and how it continued to go. Dont be upset cause I called you out accurately, albeit blindly. The only people who would take offense or be sore about my post are the ones who it targeted or resonated with, consciously, or sub-consciously.

LOL I made the prediction long before that on page one-second post. And it reads...
" In the months ahead, this SHOULD be a hot topic" as well "I would have to say that this will probably be a touchy subject matter"

This folks aint no lie!

Azantia..its easy to make a prediction about something you plan to troll on

Hardly worried.

*shrug* call me a brat if it makes you feel better.

The only mentality I believe in is fair-play for all, teamwork and leadership by example.

I am human and although my posts may not be considered the best of my personality, I stand by them, right or wrong, because I have done nothing but speak my mind honestly and from the heart. My posts are in response to your community and its self-righteous, entitled attitude with regard to other playing communities.

You may not believe it, but there are many many members on these forums who silently support or share my point of view.

To say I am the sole-instigator here is, interesting...reminds me of how children justify themselves when they are in trouble...."Well he started it!"

When we reach adult-hood generally people tend to recognize "It takes two to tango", but, hey, nothing gets through to you people cause your ego-shield 2000, so I will just say, okay sure, I am the Instigator.

I stopped sharing suggestions when I realized they were falling on deft ears. I have shared them with other groups who we are now training with and have formal relations. More groups coming into the fold week by week. Dont be so naive to believe that just cause I didnt post it here that I dont have suggestions or ideas on how unit alliances should go.

I can see this topic coming up more and more prior to the game's release. Only thing I can say is : Watch the egos and e-peens come out of the woodwork. I would be willing to put money down on the fact that the most vocal players on this topic could give two ***** about "the good of the house/faction" and care more about serving their ego/increasing the size of their e-peen and maintaining their status-quo of percieved greatness. Dont believe me, just take one of the guys that lead successful units and ask him, if there was another leader, who could do what you did, only better, would you step down and once again be a regular mechwarrior under his command? Now on paper, all of them would say yes, but in reality, they would argue semantics, talk about accomplishments (embellished i am sure) and look to their lancemates and long time gaming buddies for support, it is the nature of people, but that is in fact, my opinion.

Have I lead troops in battletech / mechwarrior combat? Yes. Have I lead gaming communities, units, outfits and guilds in other games? Yes. Have I lead troops in REAL combat. Yes. The difference between me and them? I wouldnt be ignorant enough to state that I am more suited to leadership of any form until I can look around on my left and my right and see the capabilities of the rest of my unit, or community.

Personally, I believe that these individuals that have "been there, done that" or lead successful groups in the past will overlook great leaders and great pilots because they didnt serve with them before, or never heard of their names. A seriously disappointing but very probable future. In fact any good leader should realize that a units reputation, and overall skill will always be based upon its weakest member or most outspoken and unbearable personality. Futher more, a groups success is determined more by its core membership than by its leadership. A group with a solid core under moderately capable leadership will be more successful than a group with a weak core and a very strong, natural leader.

Just my thoughts on this topic. Im sure its not worth much, but I felt the need to bring it up, because I for one would like to see a very successful House Davion that is considered to have not only skilled pilots and good leaders, but good sportsmanship and attitudes about itself and its junior mechwarriors.

here is my original post.

I offered a mentality (suggestion) to follow, which you guys could care less about, as long as you get the top seeds. The problem is you were called out, plain and simple, and didnt like it.

Nope, not the least. But that is the biggest problem here. Wouldnt it be a better place if we all just took to the same belief that our actions and our ideas and thoughts were all for one purpose? For the House?
Cmon man...again WE ARE NOT AGAINST YOU!

You are not against "us", but you are not for "us" either. And by us I mean the greater Davion community. You are for yourselves first. I would very strongly disagree that you are not against "me". Your posts are very clearly against "me" and Jack Gallows. Nothing wrong with that, its an opinion, which is your right.

Thank you for quoting your first post. Safes me the time.

If you call that a fair conversation about your concerns, then im a super villain sitting in my hardened bunker plotting the end of the world as we know it.

You where claiming to know a lot about human behavior, well..., is that kind of post a reasonable post about your concerns or just an try to instigate a riot?

To clarify, I didnt claim to know alot about human behavior, just that I have been trained to interpret and analyze it. My personal opinion is that I am pretty good at it, but people are so complex, it takes a lifetime of study and practice. The more we talk and post, the better I am able to establish a "baseline" on your personalty, traits, strengths, weaknesses, etc etc etc....The post was meant to not only highlight a concern, but it served to draw out those targeted (quite successfully I might add). There is a large difference between calling people out and getting a lay of the land to trying to incite rebellion or riots. In order to be successful in rebellion or riot you need to already have a base of people to work with who are disgruntled or upset with a regime or leading party. Since that very clearly doesnt apply here, I would say, no I was not trying to incite a riot.

As far as a reasonable post, I would say its as reasonable as any other post you guys made. It has a hidden purpose, it targets a certain audience and it states my opinions / point of view on a topic.

EDIT : In addition, fair conversation does not always mean "calm" conversation. Conversations get heated, people get upset or get strongly invested in their arguments. Fair conversation means good communication both ways. Good communication requires good listening skills. You guys hear nothing anyone else is saying cause of an ego problem. I have heard very clearly what you guys want and what your stance is : "We are all about the house, as long as we are in the leadership."

Anything else you would like to highlight?

As for not knowing anything about the gaming group...I can only go based off their attitude and actions on these forums, and that is EXACTLY what I am doing, if you dont like my stance, too bad. Change your attitude or live with it.

No, you're just getting your tighty whiteys in a twisty. Go your own way if you don't like it as others have said they would do. I can at least say I have a positive attitude and like to help others. You're obviously not here to help, so why are you here? What is there to like about this 'stance'? Whatever it is just get over it and move on.

Looks like I am not the only one with my panties in a bind. I understand your upset Eagle, I just dont care, you are a non-factor to the conversation at this point, LordRush is more than capable of defending his points of view and making strong arguments, he doesnt need you to support him, you actually just hurt his stance, not help. You have added less than anyone else in this topic. At least I can say LordRush clearly articulates his point of view and stands by his guns.

Dude, Az it's clear your real rebellion is that of who leaders are and who deserves to have followers and whatnot (which is pretty darn childish) but you try to make it sound like it's a big conspiracy for power when it is not. There are many different levels and aspects of leadership and all of them you BUILD. You want to sit here complaining about who gets what and self proclamation crap when this thread isn't even about that. Learn from yourself man, if you are a leader and you know that having people "with" you on many levels is leadership then also understand that the lowest level of leadership is that of simply having a title.

I'm done. Hope to see you all on the battlefield, we Jags like to play with our food.

We might just have to try to take you over before the Clans do, just for the food.

Soo you admit you where not posting to get your concerns heard, but just went about to "draw" out people with a psychological attack.

You know, im not a trained specialist, but i do know this. When i hear somebody talk, and i got some concerns about where its going, i will achieve a lot more by engaging those persons in a normal conversation.

Conversations can get heated absolutely, but your opening shot came pre-heated aimed to invoke a reaction that you could exploit afterwards. You where totally not interested in good communication.

*looks at the time* Hmm time to get my Darth Vader costume fitted, i gotta look the part :(

So, uh, does anyone who doesn't agree with you mean they're wrong? Are we not trying to help because we have a different idea of how things should work concerning a CoC, and don't like how the conversation or those in it have been handling themselves?

I don't wish ill on anyone, but I'm certainly thinking you aren't the only one who likes to help others. Sweeping generalizations don't do anyone any good. There are good ideas in the midst of the bad ones on the many sides of this discussion.

I see so many references or posts that make it look like that not going with certain individuals means you aren't there to help the House, or aren't going to be part of the group that makes things happen for Davion. I personally find this incredibly short sighted. There's going to be a lot of groups that are going to be doing a lot of good for the House, and not all of them are going to function the same way nor will they interact with each other all the time.

As for our decision to withdraw our support for a CoC in this instance, we just don't feel it's currently healthy or advantageous given what we've seen, and that's our opinion. It's as valid as anyone elses, including the people we don't believe are best serving the House.

Feels a lot like people take the stance of "us or them" when it's not.

Good use of humor to deflect, and twisting words around Qin, as I have posted before, you are a master at this. It was not used to "exploit" as you say, but to let me know who was worth talking to, and who was not. If you have a problem with that, I am not really sorry, but its too bad.

My original post, as I stated before, should not have made anyone but the people it targeted, consciously and sub-consciously, anywhere close to "upset". Normally, I would say that someone who is really devious, would be upset, but realize that they dont want to respond or show it. Took you how many pages of posts to get back around to what bothered you again?

Well I think I have made my position clear but just incase my group ( 40 Pilots) which I lead are sticking with Qin and Lord Rush. Mainly because I know both and have played with both. I really do not owe an allegiance to them frankly after the closing of MPBT3025 I more or less embarked on my own path and started a gamers league which has over 100 players currently in 8 games and our own Ventrillo server. I say this since some put stock in size (wonder who is compensating for what). I am sticking with these two players because of leadership and having seen the organization, the web page development, the communication (to everyone) and then are showing leadership by not letting ego's get in the way of reason.

Az frankly I would not follow you to a latrine if someone was offering to pay me by the step. Your temperament as demonstrated in your posts suggest, you’re a hot head with out any concern for the overall goal but to fulfill your own fantasy aspirations. How you could lead anyone in the past is certainly beyond me. Certain you will blow up at this and offer to meet me on the field of combat I will save you the rant NOT! going to happen. I have nothing to prove to you or any other male caught by teenage adolescence and I will not lower myself to running around with my fly down to say see mine is bigger. So save it.

What I have said is something I hope many will realize that this game promises 2 things unit play 1-3 lances per side on a planet and 2 that it will be a true MMO which means hords of new players in and out all the time. Concentrating on training (lord Rush's strong suit) and Communication (Qin strong suit) will be a key to any leadership of any size unit in the game as well as an open door policy to the house and units in the house to make new players feel welcome and thus want to join. These are going to be the key qualities to compete in a game that may in the first 12 months after they officially open boast 5 million registered players. So if a few of you can get past the head rush and realize that it is going to take a team effort and that you need to shelve the ego and start talking like you care more about the players and a positive game experience then your own ego gratifications then who needs you anyway. I am very certain that Qin and Lord Rush and those that follow will have a great experience regardless of what the rest of you do. They both have proven in this Genre how to lead and lead well.

I strongly suggest to Jack and Az and few others to stop thinking about yourselves and roll up your sleeves and offer to help. Also you may want to pull up your zippers while your at it this is not middle school and no one really cares. We come to play relax be with friends and not listen to bullshit.

Amusing post, thanks Nightsniper.

Only people quantifying numbers here in, with regards to themselves, is you. So, who has the compensation problem? We are not thinking about ourselves, we are thinking about the house and greater community beyond yours. It is you guys who cant see past that.

Good luck with your group Nightsniper, I dont take things here personally like you do. Interesting coming from a 55 year old who claims I am a hot-head. Seriously amusing.

Nah i only have a problem with the fact that you first used an masterfully crafted post to attack, and then claiming afterwards you where only holding a conversation. To claiming you where the master genius who was dragging the evil overlord out of his hideout into the light for all to see!

Again, it was not meant to attack, merely to see who was here for conversation and who was a megalomaniac who wouldnt listen to a word anyone said.

Only people who believe it to be an attack, would be those who are offended by it, who I would put money on have ego problems.
Again, if that upset you, take a good hard look in the mirror.
