Yes, because NONE of us read that very nice proposal one of the Devs sent about Solaris. Just look at how long some free-to-play games have been out for (DDO comes to mind). Many of them aren't even that successful, yet because they are free-to-play, they can stay around WAY longer than the life span of your average MMO. Add to that the fact that PGI is working some serious magic with MW:O, and you'll realize it porbably is going to be around that long, at least.

Think about it, could you imagine any need for PGI to update the graphics for MW:O in the next decade? They already have 3D support, and the game already looks stunning. That means all they need to do is keep coming out with new content, and BAM. Can't wait to see the 10th year anniversary of this game IN GAME. XD

CryEngine3 is just today's standard. Don't take it for granted that it will continue to be so next year. If anything, I'd expect PGI to upgrade the engine in time and take advantage of new upcoming features. It'd be convenient if CryEngine4 would allow to import current assets. This also means content overhaul to some extent, but this is something for the future, not now.

I wouldn't mind if the Jihad turned out like it should have in the first place.

3067, Word of Blake starts it's Jihad.
One month later the Wolf Dragoons warships blow the utter crap out of the force headed to Outreach.
Six months later the houses curb stomp the Word of Blake out of the Chaos March.
One year later Word of Blake is a bad memory.

Not a thing about the Jihad is remotely consistent or sensible within the BTU. It's even worse than the Civil War, at least that was a good idea with bad execution. It's didn't pull stuff like "Oh yeah the houses exist but they let this fruity little protector in the center of the IS continue on.." and such.

Worse yet, there WAS a decent setup for it. Everything was in place for WoB to use the Free Worlds League assets, manipulating FWL into invading the IS on their behalf. That coulda been interesting. Instead, no, the hacks at Wizkids decide WoB should attack them to. The literal worst thing WoB should have been able to pull off is pretty much "Space 9/11" and not some kind of full scale invasion. I'd buy them blowing up half the HPGs or lostech factories in the IS in some kind of coordinated strike before I could accept any of the total warfare stuff. Even the Com Guard in no way had the numbers to fight the IS like that, and the WoB is a splinter group from them.

Argh. The worst noose on CBT's neck is being forced to march towards Dark Ages - a game that's defunct. I really would not mind if MWO swerves off the timeline before the Jihad and does things differently. The Civil War at least presents interesting fight scenarios that aren't too wildly out of place, that failed in characters, not BTU logic.

Have you read the lore for the Jihad? The WoB could do exactly what they did in the Jihad. You are mistaking "I dont like" with "is incorrect". you dont like it, buy the franchise. Until then, keep the hate elsewhere, please.
