A Centurion with a Kamikaze Paint Job is still just a Centurion.

All upgrades (endo, dhs,ff), Standard 250 engine (10 sinks doing 2.0), ac20 with 4 tons of ammo, 2 medium lasers. The hero way :(

AC20 going 87.x km/h with a kamikaze paintjob. Once you shut down that cannon itll just keep going, you shoot stuff on it but it just wont die...thats why you hate on it!

I got the Yen-Lo because I *gasp* actually like Centurions and wanted to work up the skill tree. I'm not a founder so the Yen was a good way to get a little C-bill boost while I worked on them.

As many have stated, anyone crying P2W on the Wang obviously hasn't looked at it too hard. Limited hardpoints, a unarticulated arm mount that seems to magnetize bullets towards it, sluggish out of the box speed. It isn't a prize pig.

I also *double gasp* thought I should probably kick a little money the devs way after playing the game for so many hours. I have a number of issues with the F2P business model and MWO's is plenty shady (I hate having to buy points instead of just having a price tag on things) but eventually you should WANT to reward something you enjoy. I was able to go all the way up to Master on the HBKs and fully trick them out with upgrades, bigger engines, and rocking weapons without paying a dime. I played for over 30 hours or so for free. Considering how often I'll drop $5 bucks on a coffee and bagel, throwing a bit of cash to this game didn't seem weird.

That said, I think the price on the Wang is a bit steep for what you get.

Anyone who spends money on the YLW or any other mech has my thanks. I spent my founders money (not the MC) and i don't plan on spending any more cash, so thanks for keeping the game going.

None of the founders in my play group are even spending their MC yet. They're saving it for mech bays and more unique MC-only mechs. So they're not spending any more cash either. So spend your money people. Keep the game going for the rest of us. Frankly, if they just put in unique camo, or ability to make custom camos, and other custom decoration kinds of things like unit emblems/logos they'd get people to spend their MC. MWO version of "hats" so to speak. You know how many of us Battletech geeks used to spend hours detailing mech miniatures 15-20 years ago? Same thing, but they shoot lasers now :(

Ignore it. I believe it's just elitist 'try-hards' thinking the YLW not as effective as, say, an Atlas, Jenner or Gauss cat. Let people spend money where they wish, I don't care. Hell, I'd say encourage it, to help cover development costs.

Every time I pilot my Wang I gain a whole new level of respect for Kai Allard Liao.

Anyone know if we will be getting TSM at some point?

I needed a Centurion for the pilot tree, didn't want the Laser/Missile one so I figured I'd make the money back in CBills. Very nice 'mech. Headshot on an Atlas, 9 kills in 4 drops... but you know, it was self defense.

The cost in MC is slightly over the amount you get for $15, so you have to grab the $30 MC pack to get it if you are starting from zero. Not an issue for founders who already have a pile of MC, but for a fresh player the wang costs $30.

The Wang, a month of premium time, and 250 extra MC costs $30. So... "The Wang costs $30 and you get a month of premium for free!" or "The Wang costs $30 and comes with 9 additional Mech Bay slots!"

Don't ignore the fries and coke that come with your burger!

Or you could get 3000 MC for 14.95 + 1250 for 6.95 = 21,90. You buy a wang and still have 500 MC left...you can than buy 1 mechbay, have 5 and thus master 3 different mechs if the centurion is one of them. Thats a lot of gameplay n stuff for 20 bucks.

I have not witnessed players being insulted for piloting YLW a single time and I play a lot more than I should. I don't say it doesn't happen but also it can't be that big of a deal as the OP makes it appear.

And on the Arm thing: That is actually a fate that the other Centurion Variants with ballistic arms and the Dragon share. Has not much to do with bashing the YLW but more with applying declawing tactics.

No need to give people grief who were so bloody stupid to pay MC for a mediocre mech with a Japanese warflag painted on it that is fine on any other mech in the game but insensitive and inappropriate on this one.

Just shoot the arm off and be done with them. Better even when they are zombies, crippled in advance before the first shot is fired.

This game takes place in a fictional universe. And as far as i know the specific paintjob on the wang is tied to the solaris tournament not to the flag variants the japanese used 1867-1945.

The number of rays is different.
