I would like to suggest that radio traffic between mechs should be open. Every book I have ever read states that radio traffic between mechs were really uncoded. This should be reflected in the game as chaotic chatter helps build the mood, and put you into the real feel of battletech
Thats really why mech pilots had call sign's
The sounds of your mech crunching through a forest or that whine of a gyro thats not suppose to bend that way.
The rumble of your mech as it runs. The scrap sound of a dmg leg as you limp toward a obj.
These are all key things that will make the game great.

I would hope a gyro would whine when bending... Not exactly within operational parameters...

So, in essence, you want great immersive audio?
I think we all do.
And it doesn't look like there's going to be any Radio chatter between 'mechs, at least not at launch.
Cheers.

It really can add to your game. I was playing MechCommander 1 last night for a bit while sitting in the Gray Death Legion's room on NGNG TS3, and their radio chatter made my game feel so much cooler as you hear their friendly chatter while they were not engaged, and then all of a sudden 'I have a Hunchback bearing 025, I think it is a Jenner behind it' and such. Kind of made me feel more immersed in MC, haha.
