It has been theorized that the really bad hit detection (hits not registering on stationary & shutdown targets) is caused by a position mismatch following a collision. I think that this is highly likely.
Is it possible that the standing up animation (complete with its incorrect position + teleport) was fixing this issue and now that collisions & knockdown animations have been removed, the problem is visible?
Some videos pointing out the bad hit detection:

Well, no wonder I'm barely doing any damage, while seemingly always hitting D:

It's more funny when you have maximum shine from hitting someone, except the shine isn't real, and the damage effect is only happening on your screen, in your mind.

In reality, you're somehow not hitting the torso, but a leg, and have been for several seconds.

LRMs will randomly clip through things. Streaks are the only option against something moving 80+ kmph.

I can't believe that some people still haven't figured this out, I see it in almost every game; people not leading their shots. I noticed this problem on my very 1st game back in july, do people have absolutely no awarness of what they are doing / not doing ?

You have no idea what you're talking about. Watch any of the videos to see what we're discussing.

It's a bit worse than that.
Pretend you're back playing on a 56k modem, from Australia.

We are talking about visual confirmation of hits being scored, and no damage being applied.

If this was a case of people simply having bad aim? That'd be one thing. In many of the videos though you will see instances of players not even moving, being hit, and still not scoring damage.

I like the chick who aims over 9000 meters ahead of the raven, and it dies from this, but then she can't hit the hunchback, ever, at least for a bit.

This is beyond finding the lag of MW3 fame.

Yes and that is what I am saying, if i see hits on the target but his hp is still at 100 i know there is lag at work, as I said I noticed it in the 1st game I played, since then I can easily compensate

How? How can you can compensate for irregular damage recognition on a stationary target?

What is this magic technique that no one has ever heard of?

How do you compensate for your missiles and gauss slugs passing through people sometimes, then the next time you shoot, they somehow hit the back armor?

Simple, I have no problems with missiles in the 1st place, except for the fact they they pass through solid rock more ofthen than not and I didn't have problem with gauss as far as I can tell, I just aim ahead of the target depending on it's speed and my ping and I hit it.

Try shooting a max speed light while driving a max speed light. It's frustrating :-p
