Ah. So limited by free space, but ammo didn't put him over weight restrictions. Stuffed that Catap to the gills with LRM ammo. I take it this means that ammo for a weapon can be stored in locations that are not shared by the actual weapon?

Well the TT rules state that ammo must be stored in the same location, or a location one adjacent, as the weapon it belongs to. LRM15 in the LT/RT means you can store ammo in the arms, legs, CT, even the head if you wanted to since they are all adjacent to at least one of the launchers

Sounds like a lovely 4th of July display, a 65ton bottle rocket...

But what about TT variants like the HBK-4G or the CN9-D, where ammo for a weapon in one side torso is kept in the opposite side torso?

Apparently, I was wrong! It's been known to happen I guess. I swear I read somewhere that ammo had to be in the same location or an adjacent section. I mean it doesn't make sense to have LRM ammo in the left arm when a launcher is in the right arm? What kind of feed mechanism would work like that???

And the posts back a bit were right. Why have a Jenner-7F variant, when all you need to do is drop the SRM-4 & add armour to a -7D in the Mech-Lab? Keep variants for different hardpoint configs.

Well, I always figured that was why ammo-based weapons weighed so much - a lot of weight and space had to be devoted to bulky, complicated linkless feed mechanisms for ACs and LRM/SRMs. After all, why else does an SRM/6 launcher weigh three tons when 100 SRMs only weigh one ton and an infantryman can carry around a one-shot SRM launcher?

Also why you get 8 shots per ton from a gauss rifle. That's as much as a 900cc Ducati. Think Bike! You accelerate that to Mach 2 & it'll do an awful lot more than 15 damage, not to mention the recoil.

Are you sure you're not thinking of split locations for large weapons, i.e. AC 20's and Gauss rifles split between arm and side torso or side and center torsos?

I'd also like to say that I'm amazed at how active the Devs are on the forums. I've only seen a few games in recent memory that had guys who actually tried to get involved with the community and see what the fans wanted. Keep up the Great Work!
Lastly, someone made a Catapult with 2000 missiles? That's absolutely ridiculous. I will require a lance of them1.
1I am, of course, joking.

Yeah... 2000?... I bet you had some missiles even inside your cockpit. Under your seat, behind it, under your feet, next to the hulla girl... Jump jets made from a stack of it, inside the reactor core, inside the armor gaps... Where else could you fit 2000 missiles inside a mech?

He had an ammo truck attached, maybe two.
I call it the Catapult Mk II

Alright. Now you've piqued my curiosity.
1. Am I going to have an animated Mechlab, with little ant Tech's running around fitting my latest design?
2. Do I get to throw weapons against my design to test it - ie; a damage simulator. I want to throw a handful of LRM-20 salvos, or PPC's, AC/20's, etc. against any design just so I know what to expect.
3. Finally - Will I have a barracks/bar/spaceport for my character to just chill in, maybe watch some battles, chat with some mercs or otherwise bathe in Glory(!)? With your statement above, this has become a nerd-perfect concept in my shriveled brain and I will likely ragepee if it doesn't meet my retarded expectations. May god have mercy on you baahstads (Say it with an Aussie accent)

At that point the new variant should be renamed the Hwacha.
