Game wont Start

I recently downloaded and patched the game. All went well with no errors. However when I try and play the game, a black splash screen comes up for a second, closes and then a few seconds later the launcher will close out. I checked my task manager and processes but there is nothing running that has anything to do with MW. Anyone having/had the same problem and know how to fix it?
Not really sure if this was the right place, but I saw some other people posting their issues, so hopefully I'm in the right corner.
Thanks,

You should also submit a support ticket, just e-mail them with the one they provide you in the support section.

get DX 9c
ensure your graphics card hardware is above the minimum spec and has newest stable drivers

Then after several tries of reboots and reinstalls and updating my nvidia drivers etc. I started the game before starting Mumble (VoIP program) once and wtf?? mwo started like there was nothing wrong.
Tried several times after that and whenever mumble was running before I launched the game, mwo wouldn't start.

Sorry if I don't understand your predicament very well... so you don't have a "Play" button? it might be because it's still downloading and you don't realise? Does the status bar in the bottom left of the launcher says "complete", yes?

Just to bump this, I just had the exact same issue with Mumble. Couldn't figure out what was wrong, then I saw this thread.
Closed mumble, opened the game again and it worked just fine. As soon as I reopen mumble and try and do anything in MWO, it crashes to desktop.
Game has been working fine for weeks - no major changes to my system recently (no updates, driver changes, etc etc) and I have always used mumble alongside the game.
Really don't know whats causing this, but it is definitely mumble/voip related.
I'll try with some other voip programs and let you know what happens :/

It seems for me this was a mumble issue, as I've tried with skype and raidcall, and both were without issues.
For others reference, my mumble was the latest version.
The only thing that i'd changed recently was to install the ATI tray manager as per THIS thread, which was to solve my juttering/stuttering/crashing fps issues with my radeon card. The ATI Tray manager did give me an fps overlay on the top right of my mwo game. And as you may or may not know, mumble also gives an overlay (depending on whether enabled or not in mumble options).
I disabled mumbles overlay and now everything works fine. Seems MWO doesn't want to run with more than one overlay??
Not sure if this will mean anything to you technical boffins, but these are my findings, and my game now works perfectly.
So in short, if you use mumble (or any chat programs with an overlay) - Disable the overlay and it should work fine.
Good luck
