From the Command chair (http://mwomercs.com/...79-matchmaking/)

Min group size: 4 players <- I bet this is a typo and the minimum is 5 because 1-4 is in random queue
Max group size: 8 players
Class Matching: No
Uneven Teams: Yes

Are there more information on this? I didn't find.

- I don't see any restriction here, so 8 men Atlas team will get matched against the 5 hunchback team?
- There is no real role a medium mech can fulfill which can't be fulfilled by a heavy/assault mech in a better way. So your team will 'force' you to play something more useful
- Is there any bonus by winning a game with less team members/worse mechs?

Because we don't want long waiting times and we don't have a battepoint system until now we need a solution:

For the 5+ team games you need at least 2 mechs from 2 different classes (maybe more restricted to not take heavy AND assault as this 2 classes). Matchmaking will choose one of the 2 mechs to make the match most equal.

This would be a good workaround and have a lot of advantages (sure its not perfect):

- Immediately finding a match
- More balanced Team sites
- Medium Mechs are playable
- To match this you can go with either tons or class matchmaking or a combination

problem:
- teams want to play with roles. So both mechs may need to fullfil this role (which is difficult with different clases) or matchmaking is 'intelligent' to do this on the best way when more combinations are possible.

This is incorrect – on both accounts: mediums have distinct abilities and not all teams are going to force you to play anything.

Gonna have to agree with RAM here.

Yup, agreeing with RAM. If you drive a medium then a heavy back-to-back, a medium is noticeably nimbler. My mate who usually rolls with me gets double the damage in a medium than we gets in a heavy, so it also comes down to playstyle and the role you're trying to fill.

And we all know we're afraid of a Swayback

the way i interpret what is written in that command chair post, it sounds some kind of weird to say the least... i hope i read it wrong or it is just written different from what the phase 2 will be...

there would be 2 optimal 8 man groups: 8 jenners and/ or 8 streak cats... in both cases, you will be prepared against any other setup^^

we will see how it turns out, but i am still not a fan of the new MM... rambo will be happy (until he realizes that premades were his least problem)... if the rest will be, we may see

Come on guys you really think a hunchback build is more useable than a catapult build on any level?

I think not. Cat always > Hunch. 1v1, as defender, as fire support, as attacker, even as light-mech-destroyer (streak cat).

Mechs are NOT balanced and a team with 8 Atlas will usually will win against one with 4 atlas and 4 hunch. (sure if the second team are super-skilled they will win but average vs. average skill will not)

I really don't see your points.
