So, in the latest edition of Mint, I was able to run Mechwarrior Online, after just copy/pasting the folder from another PC, but the patcher is not working, is there an alternative to get the latest update? It looks like this is the only thing keeping me away for now.

Have you guys tried running it within a VM, if your hardware supports VT-d?
Mine is running great.

It says you need 2 graphics cards to pull this off, do you know what would happen if you tried with 1?

I got the patcher working by just running MWO in a World of Tanks setup on POL. But Now the silly thing freezes after I enter my login data... SO CLOSE!

Ok guys I got it working on Play On Linux!
Still need a copied install folder from windows.

I ran the "Install Unlisted Program" feature.
Chose to install into a new virtual drive.
Selected Wine Version 1.7.4
Configured Wine to Windows 7
In configure options, Display tab, set Rendered to OpenGL
In Misc Tab ran an exe, and chose Mechwarrior Online from the copied install folder.

Graphics look good, gameplay smooth. I will welcome feedback on if it works for everyone now.

Tamtambaby, where you aware that you just necro'd an almost 8 year thread Posted Image I hope you do not work in a morgue.... And if you hover your mouse over the user name, it will also show the last time they had logged into the forums/game, which for the OP, that was also 2015....

I rarely use the forum search functions cause it is the bare minimum and bites hard.

When I do searches for MWO, I input what I am looking for and put it in front of the search criteria in the URL line... site:mwomercs.com I even have it saved as a shortcut so I do not have to type in the site:mwomercs.com each time. Most of the Linux threads with actual details are older, and there are a few in the MWO Steam forums too. At least the Steam forums are easier to search, and are more.. orderly that PGI MWO forums.

There's a detailed discussion claiming that MWO works on Linux "Proton" distro, discussion dated August 2022.

(And no, I know nothing about Linux...)
