Motion blur seems to stick around when spectating. Had this happen to me once earlier today.

I think it's a known issue though, or at least it was elsewhere on the boards recently.

Yeah, in some older mmo's I played even if the person is disconnected you still get rewards and xp for the kill. This is just some loophole in their program that nobody wants to fix.

Hey DEVs/MODs

I just wanted to tell you guys that game is incredibly unstable since new patch.
I had perhaps 1-2 crashes when I was playing prior to this recent patch.
But after this patch, it seems like game started crashing at least 1 in 10 matches.
Also disconnects are rampant now more than ever. I would say I get disconnected sometimes 2 matches in a row. Or 1 in 7 matches I get kicked back to mech selection screen.

Many of the players have begun to notice many issues cropping up since the latest patch (6 Nov). Some are issues that existed some time ago that had been fixed and some are new issues.

To the players -

Happy to see people posting in the forums for feedback. I also suggest that you submit a ticket for the issue(s) you may be having. PGI, as with any software company, lists each 'ticket' and then compiles the number of reported instances of this 'issue', thus prioritizing the 'fix' accordingly.

When filing / submitting your ticket please include as much info related to the issue as possible, such as, but not limited to

Time of day it occurred (list you local time ex. 12.00noon CDT)
Map (if it is applicable)
Mech used (if applicable)
System specs (they need the Mpu, amount of RAM, Video Card, OS, Modem Model, Router Model, ISP Provider, Your Geo region,)
DxDiag – latest file info (attach as .txt file)
User Log backup File - the latest one (found C:\Games\Piranha Games\ MechWarrior Online\LogBackups IF you used the standard install on Win 7)
Brief but DETAILED description of what the issue is
Screenshot – Take a screenie if you can and attach it as well if this applies.

They may need more info, but this will give them most of what they need to work the issue.

Love the game. Love the work you guys are doing.

I have noticed that this latest patch (6 Nov) had brought back issues that were once solved. I also have noticed many new issues that we did not have before such as Jenners running around with what appears to be detached mach parts such their cockpit 2 to 3 meters in front of the mech, of the 'glazed' look when viewing in spectator mode.

We also seem to have more crashes now, or random loss of connection. As well as things in the mech lab. Things like “I made changes to my mech, but they dont show up, but the C-Bills were spent.” , OR I just changed my mechs armour or chassis to endo steel and now I have NO mechs but when I reboot the client they are there but the changes I did are not there...

There have been MANY threads about the DHS changes / issues, gripes, complaints and so on. I have a simple solution to this, simply set them where you want them, be it 1.4, 2.0, 1.6 whatever, and rename them as IMPROVED heatsinks. You can then introduce the DHS as true doubles later in the game when then Clans come calling. People that have/use IMPROVED heat sinks, can pay a smaller amount to convert to true DHS, or if not converted, then pay the full amount to apply DHS to the mech(S). Simple.

Streaks seem to stray a little too much for their range. With the change that allows AMS to shoot down streaks (a good thing imo) the streaks should have a tighter targeting hit area.

LRMs, altho we got a hot fix patch, now seem weaker than prior to the 6 Nov patch. I dont know for sure, but they just seem weaker. I know this is not much help but I dont have the numbers to prove any facts. Just seems longer to kill damage mech NOW than prior to artemis assisted missiles (excluding the short time between patch and hot fix)

Collision gone. I dont care if knockdown is there currently or not, however, collision needs to be in the game, even if it just stops the mechs involved. I hate the ability to run through an enemy. It seems to me that a 60 or 100 ton object (fill in the weight) would stop a smaller (35 to 50 ton) object that hits it head on or from the rear.

There are numerous other little things too.

I am not sure what all went into this latest patch, but it seems to have opened up things that were fixed before and reverted them to the pre fix stage as well as introduced a few new ones (expected, not wanted, but expected.).

I have to agree. I had never crashed before this last patch and now I have crashed about 10 times.

Hi,

so how can I contribute to fixing issues I frequently encounter?

Every 4th or 5th game, i have FPS drops, then eventually leading to a application hang. It does not crash, but freezes.

Then I have the occasional crash to desktop, also comes maybe every 10th game.

Latest driver, system runs smooth and stable on all performance checks.

Core2Duo e8400 3GHz
Asus P5Q
4GB RAM
ATI 6970HD



Is there some way to help report the crashes?

Its a memory leak, which is a software coding issue, nothing you can do to prevent it until it gets fixed. Although I have heard from players who have + 10 gigs of ram that this is a non-issue for them... I don't know since I do not have the cash to test this out.

Ill come back for the next patch and hope they actually test their patches for some of these crappy issues before they actually release, some of the issues and bugs ive seen could have been so easily caught before releasing the patch, totally lazy in my eyes.

If you carry 10 tons of lrms and do 300ish damage that just means you suck at using them. I´m running a c1 with 4 tons of lrms and manage to be dealing 300-600 damage if i manage to use up all the missiles.
Try thinking before you fire them, a light mech running @ 100+ kph is not a good target, neither is a medium or heavy next to cover who is just waiting to see the "incoming missile" warning to make a few steps back and laugh at all those missiles hitting the ground where he was standing before.

As for the streakers you are right, they did **** them up. Streakers should hit all over the mech and not all CT as it was before, but they should never miss if there is no cover to pull them into. The Commando is kind of a useless mech anyway, but with 3 streakers it should still be capable of quite an impact, even now. Wich basically means your probably just hitting the firing button without thinking. Again.

As for snipers sitting on hills, they are gonna learn how much of a stupid idea that is when they get sniped themselves, never crest a hill if you wanna stay alive.

As to the last part: stomping PUGs in 8man groups is fun? Where is the challenge in that?
Stop listening to PUGs? What do you think will make up 60-90% of the playerbase one day? The PUGs of today.

Been playing closed Beta BEFORE the Commando existed.. So.. I think I know how to play, and I know how to adjust my style for changes in the game. Been doing it patch to patch for months now.

The fact we are ALWAYS down by 4 in our team, so its hard to get good scout feedback. Which makes it hard to get a good fix on what your firing at. With the low arch of the missles. It's hard to know if I am hitting buildings, rocks, etc.. I virtually have to have a clear LOS shot to KNOW I am not hitting something other than the Mech I am firing at. Which kind of defeated the purpose of LRM.. they should go up high enough and down fast enough to clear most obstacles between target and launcher. Not saying that hiding behind covre wouldn't work.. but cover shouldn't be a building at 300M when you are 900M away.

Long story short. Average K2D of between 1.8 and 2.8 and last thing I need is someone telling me I don't know how to play a missle loadout. I know how to play, and what they have done with killing teams, and missles has drastically hurt the game.. end of story. If we don't let them know and give them feedback how will they know to fix it.

I will say it would seem I posted a bit early, after that post I went in and it seems they adjusted things a bit on the LRMs, but its not quite right still. That and the SSRMs spread is FAR too wide. I should not hit a left arm and a right leg, with a volley of three SSRMs, I saw me hit both legs and arms and torsos and had a few missles even miss. That's just ludicris. Its one thing to just hit CT, its another to have the spread worse than that of a SRM6.

Will concur.. I have 16GB of RAM, don't have a problem with this at all.
