And here is a good example of why I didn’t even want to go to the forums, people who find it necessary to ridicule, I guess to sound important or cleaver, so we cant ask questions or discus anything unless we have absolute scientific evidence???? you could have said the rest without being a ***** and I would have listened to you.
The attempts to sound like a tool for chopping meat start right about now, assuming you meant clever. Before I was just using humor to help make the point of how little that data point (assuming it's not arbitrary) actually meant.
The fact is, data without information isn't really helping much. If nothing else, you could try saying things like what sort of mechs were on your team, were they all trials (by the way, a [TRIAL] designation on the battlegrid and HUD would be awesome), what sort of builds are failing to work against what.
For example, if I say 100% of coinflips come up heads, and I neglect to mention I'm using a two headed coin, the data point becomes useless. If I say a car gets 17 miles to the gallon, but neglect to tell you whether that's city or highway, it's not particularly informative. If 80% of a person's co-workers are male, and they happen to live in Iran, that suddenly changes the meaning of a statistic.
Yes, it may seem to you like matchmaking is broken. That's probably because matchmaking
is broken. To be incredibly generous. But the way it's broken doesn't automatically have anything to do with your win/loss ratio.
Basically, since there's factors like experience, build, and other things that HAVE to exist in a matchmaking system missing from your data, through no real fault of your own, since odds are people wouldn't have answered a survey had you tried it, it's somewhat meaningless.
