Looks to me like each leg has 4 retactable hardpoints and the head has quite a few. Interesting was of protecting the internal hardpoints in the head.

The hardpoints are all hidden under that ferro-furrus armour. The most advanced armour ever seen in the Inner Sphere, but it smells funky when it gets wet, and takes forever to clean, so most 'Mechwarriors don't equip it.
