Here's another model Rudy did a while back (for the Freelancer mod): the Achilles assault dropship. I did a bit of the texture work.

I hope you don't mind me modifying your fantastic art a bit here Shortpainter.
Your Blackjack redraw made me want to mark it up as my own.
I replaced the AC's with a different barrel and colored it.
I hope you approve.
Here is my take on this great mech.
I hope to pilot one in the game.

Ah those were the days! I still have most of those models. I like a lot of the dropship designs from the BT universe.

Another sketch from back in the day. I had grand plans of re-designing every mech in the 3025 technical readout. Or at least updating them for a more modern look. I did quit a few. Here is the Charger with more realistic joints than the original art. I always wondered why one of the small lasers on the Charger was a hand held pistol. Heheh, oh well...

Awesome fan concept!

Also think about how the ground is shaking when this 80 ton mech running at 86 km/h!! Madness!!

The Stalker doesn't really have the bulk you'd expect, but the Champion is a nice update that still retains its general style

I think your Stalker need the front to protrude a little more to be recognizable as a Stalker.
That being said, I prefer your version to the original.

I love your redesigns. For the most part I knew what all of them were without even having to read their names and yet they're wholly their own. Color me impressed with your style.
I'd love to make that Vulcan my daily MW:O driver for better or for worse, and your Champion is pretty cool. It stays true to the original and wins my vote. Don't know why I have such a liking for these general purpose, weak-at-any-range mechs. I guess its from getting started on the Shadow Hawk and Thunderbolt.

The humanoid legs on the Stalker are really bugging me, but I like the rest of it. The Champion (and all of your other work!) is truly spot on.

I'm glad you mention the legs. The original 80's legs of the Stalker are humanoid but a lot of modern interpretations of the mech give it bird like legs. To be honest, I think bird legs do look better on a Stalker but I challenged myself to see if could make some acceptable looking humanoid legs.

Thank you for your comments! :P

The goal of my project was to prove that any mech can look cool. It all started because some of my friends would not play with certain mechs in table top games because "they don't look cool". I wanted to show people that when I flipped through a TRO, I saw much more than what was on the page. My friend challenged me to re-design or update all the mechs in the 3025 TRO. Of course, mechs like the Vulcan and Quickdraw were the first ones I was told to tackle. So I did it, we had good times geeking out on mech semantics. The Phoenix Hawk and Crusader were re-designed before the phoenix project came out. Many people are bothered by the whole lawsuit situation with the unseen mechs. I tried my hand at re-designing the unseens but still keeping the overall shape of the original. I did make a locust that looked like a walking apache attack helicopter, I'm trying to find it. Some of these drawings go back eight years or so.

Hate the orignal look of it, but your version is awesome. Would love to pilot this mech. Too bad I can't.

Missed this thread until today.

All concepts looks good, but for me the Panther and Sentinel really stand out. Awesome work on those two.

Since the Marauder is my favorite I'd like to give a bit more detailed feedback on your take.I like Legs and Torso, but the arms irk me a bit, as they look pretty short. The backwards extension (beyond the "elbow") of the Medium Laser is a bit odd, more so because those integrated casings for PPCs and lasers have always been quite a part of this mech's signature.

But keep on the good work, as you've shown to be able of turning **** into gold and even improving on iconic designs.

Beautiful artwork! I especially liked the Charger. Good work on those Unseen mechs too... the Locust redesign was esp. good! Can I get you to do a favor? Draw a concept of the Battlemaster, Warhammer, and/or Marauder II... for all of the players out there who really want those mechs in the game (myself included). Maybe then the devs CAN get those mechs into the game! I'd do this myself, but I have absolutely ZERO talent when it comes to drawing/sketching. Thanx.

I have to say, I am impressed by some of these updates. It takes talent to turn some 'mechs like the UrbanMech and Sentinel into decent looking machines.

Added to my list of "nice alt-Mech artists", sir. Although the Charger makes me think of it being made from minecraft cube-bits for some reason...
