shortpainter, you are a great designer! I would love to see another Battletech game with your re-designs, or even an animated movie/series.

Love your Marauder...

Make the top cannon a little more beefy and I'd say to PGI "Yo, pay attention cause this one won't get you in trouble"

I want to point something out, a trend I've noticed in this thread. Anyone else see how consistent this work is? Rudy, your designs are impressive, but what really interests me is that they're all rather mechanically workable. One can look at any of these and see them moving, as machines should move.

The only downside is that there is no hint of a manufacturer's uniqueness. Your Charger and Hollander could have come from the same manufacturer. You know what I mean? A Dodge Charger is the visible might of that company, and no one else could have made one. It's unique that way. A Locust was originally made by Bergan Industries, a now-dead company but founded in Star League times by English-speaking engineers. The Hollander was built by Defiance Industries, many many light-years away, and centuries later, by German-speaking engineers with a completely different mindset. Your versions look like the same company made them.

Argh, don't think I want to be critical, you are still my favorite BTech artist, bro. Oh, and I have a new 3D model of the Lord's Light PPC I wanted to send your way. Be harsh.

This is why I think that PGI should bring on more mech designers (you, Shortpainter, you!). That way we can get more variety of mech styles. We can have brand new mechs rolling off newly retooled factories, and centuries-old mechs that came from factories that are now glass. They should look different!

Ah, I guess they need to make some actual money first before increasing the overhead yet more...

Did some drawing today, Memorial Day. A Stalker and a Champion

Really enjoy your work shortpainter! This Stalker though doesn't seem to be long enough and rounded enough to really be a Stalker. Wouldn't have realized it was a Stalker if you hadn't said so.

Also if I may, your 'Mechs while amazing, tend to be... underfed. They're a little on the skinny side in many (not all though) cases and that makes me nervous about climbing into their cockpits and doing battle. Otherwise they're awesome and keep doing the amazing work!!

And, yes, this is the key.
