A. 3rd person was always either available to everyone or denied to everyone. Refusing to use it doesn't mean the other guy has an unfair advantage.
II. TT CBT wasn't first person. Any "purists" that claim FFP was "the way the game was meant to be played" are full of crap.
3. In MW4 it was so effective because of the pacing of the game, the way mechs responded to control input, map layout, weapon convergence and weapon ranges. In MWO all those things are very different.
Δ. If nothing else, the feature should be at least tested before making blanket pronouncements. If it causes a dramatic shift in how games play out and there's no way to tweak it, then drop it. But give it a shot before threatening to ask for a refund, cancel your internet, sell your house and move to Canada.
Yes because having a wider field of view to see the landscape you may possibly get caught on is not an advantage. Thus 3rd person becomes the must use.
TT, you didn't control 1 mech. You controlled a group of mechs. It is closer to an RTS (see the mechcommander games) than a shooter
It was an advantage in MW4 because it allowed you to see things that you could in 1st person. The exact same reason it would be an advantage in this game.
