NEWS UPDATE:

Hi everyone! I have some updates for you!

First thanks again to all of you for your interest and suggestions.

After lots of testing with the current match making system we have decided to wait until the next phase of match making is implemented. That said we are still very much moving ahead with this and are very excited to do so. We will keep you all upto date when we are ready to go ahead with the Tourney.

So lets cross our fingers for next week and I hope to see you all on the battlefield. As always please keep the PM's coming and feel free to talk to me on TS3 in the comstars or in NGNG.

Personally, I'd say every two weeks. This would bring a major interest into the game.
Further to this, it would make sense to award winners with a very valuable ressource, such as the MC-bills - Considering there are no other ways to earn them beside purchasing them.

I like the idea of something cosmetic for your mech, specifically a camo spec or cockpit banner. A contest like this should reward the good players with bragging rights, not additional currency to give them an added advantage for free.

I would agree to some people that the fame was enough, perhaps a special forum tag to show it. Personally the thing I would mostly like to win would be the possibility to turn off forest colony and forest colony snow maps in the random map shuffle ^^ Another possibility would be a special mech - something like the hero mechs that would only be available for the winner until the next tournament.

I picked 1 every month. Don't want to cheapen the idea or the prizes by running one to often.

What about decals or cockpit banners? Something that stacks so if someone wins three of them they have a banner with three marks/skulls on it. Or a decal they can apply to the mech with the same idea as the banner.

I think MC is a good idea also. It gives the chance for non paying players to get some of the items that only paying players can get (banners, colors and those sweet, sweet bobbleheads). Just in moderation. Don't need to **** of paying players by giving away 100,000 MC to the winner. Maybe 500-1000 MC?

Would be either unique colour schemes or badges.

Or maybe a token which gets you a mech ... or part of a hero mech.

Or better still some Clan salvage.

I think that the best reward would be a 4inch 3d print of the winning mech. Preferably not repaired to show struggle, challenge and skill with their mech.
A skin or weapon would also be nice. Like a token for a free weapon of your choice.

As a noobie I'd vote for a combination:
C-Bills, some premium time and a skin

It doesn't have to be much monetary wise but the skin would be cool for the person that won

Every 2 weeks because It'll keep people interested in the contests, once a month isn't really enough.

Trial by Fire will be held in 2-3 weeks. Maybe the first weekend after the Christmas break.

I had a blast playing in the tourny and the referees did a bang up job.

Im still waiting for a tounrament breakdown of how everyone did. I would love to see one done up!
