How about introducing a range of 'Achievements' that can be unlocked by new players and will provide a once off C-bill bonus? The amount given per achievement doesn't have to be much and could be used to encourage new players to play in a manner conducive to teamwork and interaction.
First 50 targets spotted and locked for LRMs...
First Blood...
First win while using the Command interface to direct a battle...
First 50 Kill Assists...
Etc...
There is a huge range of possibilities here and all of them can activly encourage a new player to work with their team AND get them closer to that Golden Fleece, the first Mech.
Thoughts? Feedback? Negative Implications?

What I do have to point out is that if you want to make suggestions, you should be posting them in the suggestions section.
Posting a suggestion here makes it harder for the devs to track. Essentially making them waste more time that could be spent working on the game.

Spotting
First strike
Focus firing
Attacking from the back of an enemy
A steadily ticking bonus for capping
Shooting down missiles not being aimed at you
Shooting enemies that are attacking other team mates above other targets
There are literally hundreds of things you could reward players for and thus subtly train them to work more as a team through these payouts.

But we could have the quake style announcer and everything! I mean hell, Cat pilots are pretty much already playing a cover shooter, sitting in one space and clicking at red blips. They'd love nozoom cockpit shot bonuses and kill cams.

Maybe have certain achievements marked on the side of the hull as well in decals. How many LRM users wouldn't want a chalk board style tally on the side of their rocket pod counting the kills? You could even make it a MC sink, pay to track a variable of your choice on the side of your mech as a bit of vanity.
