Hey guys. I'd really like to join a faction, and I've always had a soft spot for house Steiner, but unfortunately my knowledge of lore is incredibly... well... almost non existent past the previous Mechwarrior computer games. I had a look at the Skye Rangers' website and I gotta' admit it was a bit overwhelming to a lore noobie like myself.
From what I read and what I could gather, it sounds pretty badass. I enjoy role playing, I enjoy piloting hulking metal death machines, but more than that, I enjoy being a part of a playing community.

I'd like to join you guys, but honestly.. how do I go about it?

Different Regiments for different play styles! I represent the 4th, a unit that's a bit more laid-back, but with an officer corps made of titanium and big plans for the future! We may be a House Steiner unit, but we incorporate all weight classes and 'Mech roles to create a balance force to handle any battlefield situation.

What kind of night time (PST) showing do the Rangers have? I want to be as competitive as possible, but I am reluctant to give up the flexibility of being a "House Pug", unless the unit I join will have players on regularly at the times I play most (9PM-11:30PM PST, weekends).

Edward, as Hans said, our regiments span all timezones...With the addition of our EU regiment (25th Skye Rangers) and Pacific/Oceanic regiment (Tamar Cavaliers), plus 10 other "Line Regiments", all the timezones are covered. But yes, evenings eastern time are the busiest. Last night for example, we had ~74 SR 'Mechwarriors on our TS server at the same time. Was a busy drop night
