What was the cost of putting it together (The frame and desk type bits, not the hardware/joystick etc)?

Unless of course the above picture is actually of your lady-friend, in which case, well played, sir.

I am jealous of your joystick/throttle combo, and find myself wanting to be your friend despite knowing nothing else about you. Kudos!

Besides, the moment a woman sees his setup that he put together himself, she's going to know he's good with his hands. So says my red haired computer geek amazon wife and I've learned to trust her on stuff like this, she has impeccable taste in men. Then she met me, not sure what happened there. LOL
I also agree that it would be nice to see the construction specifications on this. I would like to put one together myself but maybe not so wide, I have limited space in my apartment.

Dude I love the setup! My father in law want me to build something like that a few years back for him to play his flight sims. But we could never decide on a design. (He plays STO on a 55 inch wide screen tv now) but is looking at MWO as his next game.

Grew up reading Dune, left an impression on me. I can't have a desk facing away from the door... just gives me the *******.
Ditto same here! I'm always got my eyes on the door where ever I'm at. (really gets my wife and family mad at me) because I won't sit with my back to a door either.. LOL

PVC or Monitors?
PVC I'm using connectors from Formufit
For the monitors I'm using an nVidia SLI setup.

I thought about encapsulating but decided to stick with the open-air setup. I actually like the aesthetics a bit better, not to mention it's loads less work/money. I'd like to take this opportunity to point you over to Turbo Corvair's phenomenally well-done sim-pit, frankly puts mine to shame.

Do you happen to have dimensions and a bill of materials? Would you be willing to have this recreated in sketch-up?
I can put together a bill of materials, certainly. I'm frankly no good at sketch-up though so I won't be putting out a mock-up. You'll just have to work from the pictures =P

Framework and connectors set me back around $350 - 400, but I also underestimated how much of both I'd use and ended up having to re-order midway through the project. If you go in with a good design you can probs cut that down to $250 for the base materials, plus another $30 - 50 or so for the wood, conduit hangers (to hang the monitors), screws (to secure the pipes), and miscellaneous other bits you need.

It even looks solid and portable if you ever need to move it.
Great Job Buddy.
Next question. Where can I get one?
It was designed to be relatively easy to break down when I need to move.
As to where you can get one, why at your local home improvement store (some assembly required) !

I hear that. May I ask what angel you have your monitors at? Very nice setup I'd like to emulate, but when it comes to projects I've learned I get distracted too easily and they never get finished.

see above, about $350-$400 all told, but I planned poorly.

This is a great setup. Do you have any drawn plans for this showing measurements? Are the ammo crates there to help step in/out or just stability?
no plans, sorry... I'll see if I can cook something up. As for the crates, they store various extra bits but are mainly there to help get in and out.

glad you base your friendships on such arbitrary and superficial things ! (j/k)
Thanks to everyone else for the kind words, sorry for taking so long to respond, and definitely check out Turbo Corvair's setup up above !!! He puts me to shame here, no joke.

I'm currently tossing between that, a CH products setup or an X52 Pro.
Also, what pedals do you have there?

Now that I have this in a response post I am happy.
Two things. Did you draw up plans? And can I have them?
Actually three things. How do you get in that? Do you like climb over the back of the chair or something?
