It begins as I move into the lake area to press an attack against an enemy Atlas who'd gotten too close. Pounding my weapons into him, he goes down just as I run out of Gauss ammo and am heavily overheated. Most players on both teams are destroyed; there's sporadic fighting across the map and at our base but I've got more pressing things to worry about: A Hunchback leering down on me.
He's heavily injured. His CT armor is a deep orange; his RT has been stripped, the exposed structure red. He's packing a pair of SRM6s, one on each shoulder, and he's headed straight at me - not even bothering to try and evade fire. He doesn't have to. I let one ER LL shot off and quickly spike to 100% heat, but thankfully hit the override so I don't shut down. He gets into range, and starts laying into me with his SRMs. Before we began, I was only lightly damaged, having evaded enemy attention most of the match.
So I sit there, slowly waiting for my heat to dissipate. He fires again. And again. I'm at 75%heat now, and my LT armour has already been stripped; he's firing directly into my components and there's nothing I can do. He's far more nimble than I am and easily out-maneuvers me. Finally I realize waiting for my heat to dissipate enough for my ERLLs is pointless; so I start firing my two MPLs, into his exposed RT. I get 2 volleys off before my heat hits the upper 90s again. Effectively, I'm dead. I can't even fire my smallest weapons without almost instantly overheating, while he has all the freedom in the world to lay into me with his ironically much more powerful weapons. So much for piloting the heaviest, most feared Battlemech ever to exist in all of human history. I am little more than a walking target, the laughing stock of the Inner Sphere, and open game for everything from Commandos to Hunchbacks.
So what's the point? This isn't Mechwarrior. This is some bastardization, the product of developers whose only prior experience in gaming development is big Bass fishing and bargain-bin racing games that nobody has ever heard of. Good luck getting anybody to play your game; now I understand why you removed the "Current players" number in the Launcher. I too would want to hide the one undeniable benchmark of my failure.
Umm you're in a long range high heat sniping mech with only 2 good close range weapons (doing a total of 12 dmg)... and you're wondering why you lost to a damaged close range brawler when you started the fight with high heat.
He can easily do 30-40 dmg with just some SRM6's and med lasers... you were using a ER Large Laser which does I think 9 dmg....not to mention it spikes your heat badly and you were out of gauss ammo...
You were a fool to think you should have won..... everything was stacked against you.

"I make excuses and blame the game dev for me being a terrible Atlas pilot"
Truth.
