Is that last question because of the MM userbar in my sig? Truthfully, I've never visited any kind of BattleTech multiplayer scene before. However, on the table I like to field a 4th MM company. Does that count?

The badge on your sig file is 25th MM if my memory serves, and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. Me I am just happy to see new faces and I know it is going to be a bit of a challenge to not put of new people as we move forward. If we get out of hand let us know. As a newer member it would be good for us as a house to have some people like we have let us know when we are being snobbish.

Pretty sureif we come across that way most if not all of us do not mean it. I for one look forward to any new game as the community makes the game for me as much or more then the games themselves. In all honesty MPBT 3025 was just above a mediocre game but it was such an improvement over what we had before and the community surrounding it made it one of the fondest memories alot of us have ever in online gaming.

I was more against the attitude of "We've been around longer than this game has, so we get to lead in this game too" that the whole first post came off like. If one of the fields (and the largest by total post content and relevence to OP) hadn't been about filling in one's expereince with MBPT I'd have had very little problem.

In short, it's not the people being snobbish, but really the way the whole thing got off the ground that left a bad taste in my mouth. I know a lot of people who would have not bothered and just picked another House.

This is exactly the kind of thing I was saying we would try to avoid and thanks for the advice, perhaps we should start a new thread, "all warriors young and old welcome, what's your bt past like?"

I think alot of the guys are just excited to see a new bt game and a chance to run with old friends. the closest I have come to the comraderie we had in MC1, MPBT3025 was neveron. Not trying to make excuses. I agree as I review this thread you have a very valid point. so guys I know you are all reading this we got the ball rolling and have said hey, maybe we should change the tempo in the forums to something mroe welcoming to newer players.

So if someone is reading this and you feel intimidated or upset I apologize for all of us. it was not our intention, and I hope you give us a chance to say hey before making any decisions.

Oh and since it seems an appropriate place, are we going to set up at least a temporary/semi permanent chat somewhere so we can hang out while we wait?

An IRC channel would work for that last part, methinks. Easily available online for free, high capacity.

With regards to the OP, I might as well fill in what parts of it I can.

Quote

In-Game Handle: Same as this one.

Last Rank: Not applicable

Last Regiment/Stable/Unit: Not applicable

What MPBT background do you have: Not Applicable

Time Zone and Time Available to Play: -6 GMT (CST, Central US), 6pm to 12 am.

Interests: Piloting and Command. I'm no slouch with a 'Mech (or a tank, if you play World of Tanks). Incidentally, I have some clan experience from WoT that I bet would slot in quite nicely for this game, so Command is not out of the question.

The 25th Marik Militia insignia looks exactly like that except with a golden cross and infinity symbol. I don't recall what that one is but I think it's the insignia of a larger division (3rd FWL?) or something like that.

Mine should be just the generic Marik Militia insignia. If I'd been able to find an appropriately sized userbar for the 4th MM, I'd be using it.

Rivalries aside (:)), I have no problem at all with getting organized this early. Are we waiting for a full role call before establishing a distinct CoC, or should we start now?

Hmm if I were in my Cloud Cobra ec-Khan uniform i would say "you will one day see the light I have faith in The Way"

But since I am in My Fwlm Uniform guess I should just say, nobody's perfect but let us hope your loyalty is rewarded :)

This, to a tee. How are "new guys" supposed to feel as though they even have ANY kind of place at all amongst that sort of atmosphere?
