I don't see the point of a JJ Assault when collisions aren't done, DFA isn't implemented, and JJ's themselves are still kind of lackluster.

No more LAGSHIELD mechs till netcode can handle them.

This. JJ's need some serious work before Spider and Highlander join the game...

it'd be kickass on River City. Right now fatty mechs are limited to standing in the airplane base sniping dumb players standing in the water or hiding behind buildings in D4 waiting to sit on people who come around the corner.

There is more to JJ's then DFA, like jumping terrain/buildings to cut an enemy off, or finding a good ambush or firing position.

Also geezz I hope they get that crap fixed by May or whatever the current estimate is for the HIghlander...or we may not have a game to put the Highlander in. They aren't going to stop putting mechs in though...so might as well/SHOULD be the Highlander before some of the others.

The spider is a different mech...it needs JJ's to survive, and it is supposed to practically fly. Current JJ implementation is enough to be very useful on the Highlander.

Heck that right there could be an argument for getting it in before the spider (And I do want the spider)

Get in line behind all the broken core game mechanics.

1) Net Code
2) Match Making
3) Client Stability / Optimization
4) Lobby / Chat
5) Ongoing Balancing

I highly doubt the dude in charge of netcode is the same guy creating the new mech models and such. Unless he is, which would explain a lot.

Sorry, more interested in Flea than Highlander. Current order works fine for me...unless we can get the Flea bumped up to come out sooner.

If you want to start a poll asking them to stop mech development and do all that first, then restart mech development Ok...

I'll vote in it...but you may not like my vote. They have people hired/assigned to/for different jobs...what you are asking for isn't practical, nor is it realistic. Even less so then what I'd like :)

Unless they stop mech development this isn't really an argument against putting the Highlander in before some of the other mechs on the to-do list.

The guy who makes Mechs is not likely working on the netcode. He probably couldnt if he wanted to without some training and experience.

Most likely, most of these issues have their own team/dev working them.

The only guy for netcode is the guy who throws the dart at the board that determines the next choice for random bit of code entered into the game....typed out by sleep deprived monkeys.

(Just kidding PGI, I love you :) )

There aren't enough arm-less chicken legged mechs to satisfy you? Please let us have this one mech...then I'll back your Flea plea :)

I can understand that, but here is the deal...

There will be 5 light mechs in game before the Highlander...6 if you count the cicada which is basically a light given how fast, small, under armed/armored it is. So 6 for the light lovers,(And all but 2 are chicken legged arm-less mechs)...0 JJ capable assaults till the Highlander which will be the 4th assault in the game....and it is months away, like not till spring!

I honestly think it is kinda selfish for people to demand the flea or another light before we get a JJ assault. With one possible exception on the announced list, which is the spider because there are no humanoid JJ capable lights in game...actually no humanoid JJ capable mechs at all so far.

I'd try to help you get your flea if you had been screwed out of arm-less chicken legged light mechs up till now, but you haven't. It has been like Christmas for you all....all year.

+1 vote for Highlander. But i don't really understand what chicken-legged christmas you're talking about.
Chickens: Cata, Stalker, Raven
Humanoids: Commando, Spider, Centurion, Hunchback, Trebuchet, Dragon, Jaegermech, Cataphract, Atlas, Highlander, Awesome

The hell are you not satisfied with?

I totally agree about the lights. I know that there should be more of them on the field than any other class, but I am really sick of only seeing 2 types of heavy or assault mechs. Throw in the fact that I LOVE the highlander and have always used it in TT and in MW4 almost exclusively. A jump jet capable Assault would be a welcomed addition. Ofcourse so would a Battlemaster, lol. :)

Arm-less Chickens...(K, some sorta have a gun thingy or whatever, but its so close and tight to the body I don't count it)

Cicada, jenner, catapult, raven, stalker, and flea = 6, 4 currently in game.

Only 4 assaults counting the Highlander....only 2 currently in game...0 with JJ till Highlander

Only 1 chicken legged mech with true arms schedualed, which won't be in game till the 20th- The Cataphract. So that is kinda crappy for people who like the chicken legs with arms...Like the Madcat/Timberwolf (I prefer Raptor legs..but can only call em that on rad mechs with arms)

Humanoid lovers have gotten some love (To be fair though a crap ton of mechs are humanoid), but no light humanoids with JJ till the spider, no mediums till the BlackJack...No heavies announced period (Cataphract doesn't count, it has raptor legs)

The Highlander seem to me the better choice if they're trying to get something in for everyone and keep the content kinda balanced in meeting all the desires of the community.

It's like F'ing Christmas for people who love arm-less chicken legged mechs in this game. The rest of us have kinda gotten the shaft for now, and will pretty much continue to get it with the occasional bright spot for some of us, like the Cataphract. That mech makes sense to get in game now....Stalker doesn't IMO. Highlander does. Heck even the Spider makes more sense.. Finally a light humanoid mech that is jump capable.

There was a poll some time ago that indicated most players (and by a wide margin, maybe 40 points) prefer "chicken walkers" to humanoid 'mechs.

That being said, let's look at the spread (in terms of leg orientation):

Commando - Humanoid
Jenner - Humanoid
Spider - Humanoid
Raven - Chicken
Flea - Chicken

Cicada - Chicken
Hunchback - Humanoid
Centurion - Humanoid
Trebuchet - Humanoid
Blackjack - Humanoid

Dragon - Humanoid
Catapult - Chicken
Cataphract - Technically Chicken
Jagermech - Humanoid

Awesome - Humanoid
Stalker - Chicken
Highlander - Humanoid
Atlas - Humanoid

By my count, the Humanoids take it 12 to 6. And that's allowing for the Cataphract to be considered a so-called Chicken Walker. If I'm going to count the Jenner as Humanoid, I suppose this is a fair tradeoff.

Whether a 'mech has both jumpjets and is humanoid seems totally silly and irrelevant, to me. Needing an assault with jumpjets, however, is certainly fair.

Why you gotta hate on the sexiness that is inspired by the beloved AT-ST?
