I don't want to be pessimistic here, but seeing the missing bugfixes and content, (game modes! ranking! anything!) it looks like they gave up the project already.

You mean we'll play with this buggy mess for one more week? Right.

Some fixes would have been nice, concidering that these are known issues, and the fact that u have been telling us that they are not a high priority. These are things that will make if fixed or break this game if not fixed i would call that a HIGH priority. From reading others posts I need not name the issues (you already know them). Just to add plz bring back the 8 man groups, trying to group with 4 others that are only out for themselves and refused to listen on the battle field is driving us TEAM players mad. This is after all a TEAM game, if you try and Lone Wolf it you be the first one to die

Interesting, I thought there was a patch seeing as the entire game I was playing were booted off the server and server connection lost. Shame, we could use some bug fixes but then I won't complain about another week of free premium

I thought the same too, the servers have actually gone offline on two seperate occasions today.

Dear lord, not that again.

Phase 2 will most likely be next week, continue to wait.

lol, i've experienced all those bugs once, but it never stayed more than one match/occurrence. At worst I had to restart the game to fix the borked "paid but unrepaired" internals bug, and I have one match where I had ghosting on the HUD which F'ed up the aiming, but that went away the next match. Are these bugs happening on older/lower end machines? WinXP OS? or what? Just trying to get a bird's eye view of all this heat. thanks.

You know you can disengage, and go power down. This happens when the automatic shutdown is interrupted in just the right way, I've done it myself and watched teammates go through it.

Anyway, a full power down cycle usually clears it up for us so far, if that doesn't work, I'd reinstall the client and see if that helps(move or wipe custom cfgs to test).

I have tried the power down/power up 'fix' many times. All that happens is...nothing, I still lose my HUD and can't fire weapons.

I've also tried re-installing, close to 16 times now. I'm not doing it again, it's getting ridiculous.

Every week it's the same thing, no communication, etc.

Gamers... They are never satisfied, know everything and are impatient as hell.

Seriously, what you are all complaining about can be read in nearly every single online-game forum.
Even a proven successful and steadily improved game like Wot has the same impacient players who demand things 24/7 and this of cause asap.

The truth is: Game development is slow as heck. Internal Deadlines are shifted regularly even in the biggest, richest and most professional companies. And PGI is by far no big player which can easily draw ressources from other projects.

And regarding the 5 million: Thats barely enough to get development going, and it is quite naive to assume that this money is able to speed up the process. PGI simply can't hire dozens of additional developers, this would burn the money in no time. And if they are responsible they don't want to fire them all after a year or so when the core game is up and all those developers are no longer needed. So they have to keep their feet on the ground.

The money is surely needed for lots of other things. Marketing alone can eat those millions easily, and PGI will surely invest a big chunk of money into this just to reach a critical mass of players for this game to be successful. And if they are smart, they will put some money into QA too. :)

2-4 Patches/month is a lot compared to many other games out there, take Wot for example: Some patches took even Months to develop and not all of them had lots of content or bugfixes.

What's true is, that PGI needs to work on their communication channels.
And they should quickly invest a few man-days to stitch together a manual so they don't loose most of potential players due to the game's horrible player guidance.

I have a 2500k and GTX 580 with the game installed on an SSD. 8 gigs of RAM, windows 7.

I've also played over 400 matches since open beta started and I've seen just about every one of those bugs at least once. CTD is the worst and happens all the time for everybody. I usually end up leading Kong groups because hardly anyone can play for 10+ matches in a row due to the memory leak - I can make it 25 or so because of my system. And as the group leader I need to reinvite people constantly because their mechlab crashes almost every time they try to do anything.

I wouldn't play this game so much if I didn't like it but if you think I'm gonna recommend it to my friends in this state you are nuts.

5 million, barely enough to get it going? Jesus, that's a worse money-to-product ratio than the government.

I wanna say I see more legitimate communication from MWO than any other MMO/MP game I've played before, so I'm not sure what the lack of comm. issue is about; though I guess other game makers do send out more substance-less hype material than these guys.

Also, I have no idea how much a game like this costs in gross expenditures, but I can tell you that major med device companies can spend $3+ millions (gross) each year for 3+ years to make a new widget (project alone and not including upkeep). Most of the time it's just an improvement of an existing widget. That said, I personally don't think 5mil is alot commercially, especially considering ongoing upkeep of hardware/networks, or even just space to rent. :)

Wrong on sooo many levels, I don't really know where to being.

Oh wait, yes I do.

Go ahead and compare this beta with other games currently in beta. I dare you to take a look at their beta forums and tell me what it's like there. Let me assure you, there is WAY more people complaining about MWO than any of the other popular game betas right now (Firefall and PlanetSide 2 come to mind).

5 million is waaaaaaay more than they need to get started on such a simple game like this (yes simple, when compared to other free-2-play titles out there). Take a look at games like Star Citizen (currently on kickstarter), it only needed 2 million to get created and when they reached the higher $ goals they added TONS of more content per million funded. Waaaaaaaaayy more than MWO has right now.

Yes, I just said "waaaaaayy" a lot, deal with it.

Comparing MWO to WOT is useless. Just because WOT did it wrong and was successful doesn't mean MWO can do it wrong and be successful.

PGI having a lack of communication is a huge understatement. They can't even be bothered to say, "Hey, no patch today, but here's what we are working on.....XYZ....etc."

Interesting, I have an older Phenom 2x4 955, 12Gig RAM and Win7-x64, all installed on an old WD caviar black. I also run Outlook and multiple Chrome instances in the background. Aren't computers funny creatures :)

My patience is starting to run thin. We went from weekly patches during the closed beta (Small changes, mostly bug fixes or small gameplay changes) too bi-weekly updates that add more bugs and add new content that has bugs in it. I love this game and will continue playing it, but I've already started to notice a decline in time I want to spend with this game. Was considering paying another $50 for MC to help with leveling the stalker when it comes out, but I'm going to hold off till that patch hits, and if it ever does.

I can't speak for Firefall, but I don't think PS2 should be compared. SOE is the undisputed king of disappointment and lackluster development. Pretty sure they also have fold more resources and employees; especially after cannibalizing that Ageny game's resources.

i would rate cryptic as a worse developer.... not saying soe is good or has done well in any of their games.

Really? _REALLY_? You're all complaining over the fact that they took the time to announce that there wouldn't be a patch today? A patch they never said would happen today in the first place? You're whining over the fact that Garth took the time to clear this up for those who might be under the impression that there would be one?

This you decide is worth whining over?

You know what? I've seen 4 year olds in the middle of throwing a tantrum, and they're still acting more mature than what I'm seeing here. Kindly learn to act your ages.
