... because they are still building the game and have to have the core perfected before they begin implementing much fluff. I expect there will be plenty of fluff to buy once it is a game instead of a game-in-development.

This is more or less the reason why I stopped playing three months ago and havn't been back, except to browse the forums once in a while. I don't know anyone else who plays this game, my friends aren't interested. I had to solo queue and pug every match in a garbage trial mech that overheats after one alpha strike. I lost pretty much every game, which is no fun. I get the promise that if I just play out a hundred losing matches, I'll be able to afford the heavy mech that I want. But then I'll still have to play it in pug matches, losing most of the time, until all the rest of my money is gone and I can no longer afford to repair it, forcing me back into the trial mechs after spending all that time grinding just to be able to afford the one I actually wanted.

No thanks.

I was really looking forward to this game, so it's disappointing. I would rather have paid $60 up front to be able to play what I wanted, when I wanted. Not grind hundreds of hours to be able to play a couple of chassis for a little while before being forced back into the crappy trial mechs again. $60 now will only get me access to a couple of chassis, and then only while I can afford to keep them repaired. Not interested. Better luck next time.

Premium players get more cbills, will be able to run more expensive gear, pay to win.

unless you remove the cbill bonus from all mechs and kill premium time, and that will not happen.

Not pay to win! I know F2P Players with a much better K/D record than me. I pay to earn faster, that doesn't make me better at playing the game.

You can run High Tech without the bonus, it just takes longer and you have to balance your play, play two matches with low tech mechs or laser boats, and then one with you munch machine of death.

I disagree. Bad players already don't get the satisfaction of winning, why also take away every other bit of fun? What did they ever do to you? Lose against you? Are you also kicking people when they are down?

all of those expensive things can be maintained....if you actually know how to play the game and pilot your mech properly.

If you cant afford to keep your expensive mech going, use a cheaper one until you are good enough to be able to afford maintaining your Atlasborgini

I agree. Not out of spite. Not out of malice. Simply, because you have to be able to lose before winning has any meaning at all.

Depends upon the following contract stipulations for economics that pertain to MW:O as it currently stands: Payment Multiplier, Overhead, Salvage, and Support.

Equipment Rating grants the following bonuses: Payment Multiplier, Overhead, Salvage, and Support. The equipment rating goes from F (the worst level) up to A* (the best level). The higher the level, the more money you make.

Rating/Payment Multiplier/Overhead/Salvage/Support
A*-3.5/+5%/+5%/+5%
A-3.0/5%/0/5%/0
B-2.7/0/0/0
C-2.4/0/0/0
D-2.1/-5%/0/0
F-1.5/-5%/0/0

Payment Multiplier multiplies the base amount of the contract that ranges from 0.8 to above 5.0. Without mission types and employers the only thing in MW:O is equipment rating. As you can see that a top of the line mech with all of the upgrades will make more money in a match than a non-upgraded mech. The mission has a base payout that is multiplied by the Payment Multiplier.

Overhead is how much it costs to maintain your Mech in between matches. It covers expenses that aren't compensated by the contract i.e. upgrades.

Salvage is how much you can recover and claim as your own. This is a percentage beginning at 0% all the way up to 100%.

Support is split into two categories of straight support and battle loss compensation. Straight support is for the payment of salaries of your entire staff while battle loss compensation is the amount that is paid to you for damages incurred in combat. In MW:O, only battle loss compensation is important.

Now this system also encompasses pilot skill levels etc... It means that bringing out the big bad Atlas or ammo dependent build makes enough to cover its costs through all of the multipliers. This system makes MW:O's system look like a feel good welfare program for free players that actually punches them in the face for playing the game in an owned mech.

Hi James, I read that and got the gist of what you're trying to do.

However I think it'll be far easier to discuss and visualise if you put in an actual example using what you've done above? Like slot in different gameplay scenarios, e.g. bad mech, win VS great mech, loss, etc.

Bads should have fun too.

Plus bads in expensive mechs are fun to kill.

OP is just an *****.

So by implication, you want expensive mechs to be the fun ones to play, cheap mechs should just be made completely unviable and torturous.

I'd bring more logic into this, but I fear you may be severely underarmed.

Sure, let me start a new topic on it. I'll link you to it.

EDIT: The new thread is titled Lore Based Earnings for Matches.
