Not so much a Suggestion as A Question (SRMS?)

The fact that MRMs are specifically noted as being unguided, and are given a +1 to hit modifier because they are unguided imply that all of the other missles (which have no such modifier) are not unguided. Including SRMs.

If SRM's are dumbfired, they will be shelved on Day 1 of the Beta. This is not a prediction, it is a promise. Especially without a zoon as it appears is the case (no zoom is a speculation of course.).
As Zorak pointed out, it was impossible to use them along with other weapons because of the requirement to lead the missiles ahead of the target. MWO lasers will have to be kept on target, AC's appear to be almost instant hit. SRM's seem slow in comparison. People will somple use AC's and laser only for short range until Strwaks come into play.
anyone who played MW4 more than a few games in Multi player (or even single player) can tell you they were useless.
Im fine with SRM's having a long lock, or even partial lock (as mentioned above) where it tries to lock on after firing. Streaks can either lock on faster, or instalock. Again either way is fine. But unless you raise the speed of SRM's to match AC's (which is kind of silly) you nee a lock of some kind.

and let's not forget http://www.sarna.net...ket_Launcher_20 which also explicitly state them as unguided. (and also 1 shot which is also significant.)

- There's a general paragraph concerning missiles that reads in short "Today's missile launchers are used to deliver clusters of self-propelled - and usually self-guided - munitions." (TechManual, p. 229)
- The way Streak SRMs work: They are not described as having a (better) guidance system, rather they where implemented to save ammunition. They only fire when "all tubes achieve a "hard lock" on their target". (ibd. p. 230)
- Rocket launchers and MRMs are explicitely mentioned to be "dead-fired", SRMs aren't. (ibd. p. 229)
In addition:
- Both rocket launchers and MRMs have penalty to accuracy due to the lack of guidance. LRMs and SRMs do not.
- Rocket launcers and MRMs are not allowed to use Artemis IV, Narc or any other additional FCS.

besides the poll selections making my eyes bleed (hey, lets all talk like we've never been to grade school!), I kindof like the idea of making standard SRMs take time to lock, that way if you wanted to you could also just fire them dumbfire. Having choice is good!

direct trajectory is clear as clear, isn't it? Now leave this poor desk of yours alone, those dents will never grow out...
No, I don't think that means what you think it means... Trajectory is simply the flight path. Direct, as opposed to Indirect speaks to whether or not the shooter has a line of sight to the target. So you find a target visually, put the X on that target, and fire. The missiles will take the shortest path to the target.

Except in TT I never really used SRMs, with an unretricted mechlab, or even with hardpoints, there were just too many "better" ways to use the weight/space..I will be interested to see how they play in MWO.

Please, Sir, leave the creepy thing alone in it's grave. You'd better read the rest of the thread so you would have seen my change of mind in this unpleasent case. Done is done. Buried and forgotten of. Thank you.

I did read it, but apparently missed that bit.

I think LRMs should lock like a modern missile system and SRMs should fire like a Vietnam era rocket.

And then they'd be rockets and not missiles.
