The main problem with that is it now splits the relatively small playerbase even more meaning longer wait time for matches and less variety in players, it generally has bad results in games with smaller communities

I don't think that half the playerbase would run training matches without cbill/xp income. It's just a matter of how they implement it.
If those newbies or people who try new builds don't queue for the "serious" matches then everyone is helped.

No 3rd Person.

If you want 3rd Person, maybe allow 'observers' who cannot chat, but can watch. That's it. For in play, NO. (Now an optional Upgrade for a rear camera... maybe.)

Well for one i never said half ;) i said split and on its own my not be a problem but this is the second time they have chosen to split the community to solve a problem like with the premade, it does not exactly inspire confidence

the other point is as is apparent nothing they say is set in stone so how do we know that is how it will be finally implemented or if even after it is they will not change it to try and fix it further/fix a new and unrelated problem.

How about a rear view camera instead of a 3rd person view?

I think many people would like that. To be true: i think it would be the same amount of people wo DONT want 3rd person.

If you implement third person view, I am demanding a full refund of my 120 dollar founders, for being sold a product under false pretenses.

Won't work. You didn't bought anything, you funded something.

Feedback: No, never on this planet. Never in my Battletech game.

Introducing it will kill MWO for me and I will stop playing immediately until it has been removed. And I'd pursue any way possible to recoup any money I have spent on MWO.

Let's lay off the refund and class action lawsuit talk... it's silly and doesn't help us prove our point.

Simply add a training room be it online or offline to really tutorial newbies. 3rd person is going to make most of the people that really want this game to succed, to flame and hate it.

I do really hope devs will understand that this isn't the solution, like a video tutorial isn't. A newbime must handle a mech in a safe environment with target practicing and experienced players could simply try and evaluate new mech builds without risking them online. It's so d a m n easy

I vote nay - because it would ruin the competitive gameplay, making mwo fell arcade-like. It would give those players using the 3rd person view an advantage over others. E.g.: There would be no sense anymore in sneaking around a mech unseen and attacking from behind. Even the unawarest player would notice the attack immediately.

No to 3PV in Fights! this destroy any simulation feeling and make it like a Arcade/Console shooter,No to a Mechassault Online or World of Mechs ! Coming a 3PV , I´m going back to MW´LL and MW4 servers with no 3PV...only 3PV for Playbacks or Gamecams.

You bought yourself into a BETA game, and now are you dissatisfied with the way it goes? Uhm, strange, but i guess someone must have forced you to do this and it's never your fault, nobody could be this stupid, right? ;)

btw, they didn't say they will cut the 1st person view, they will just ADD a 3rd one, so you still have your "first person mechwarrior". You were never promised you will get a "first person mechwarrior ONLY", you just thought it but the devs aren't responsible for what you thought ;)

I support the game financially, because it was only as FPV Sim planned and announced! If I pay a hot coffee in a coffee shop I will not get a glass of cold water because a few other guests prefer.
I play ekin Wot, because it is not only FPV is, and do not go well in a WoT forum and scream and cry there FPV. So if you do not you can anfreudnen with FPV because schwirig to, go back to Wot, next will you still probably Mechs with Panzerchassies because the leg control irritated.and I need not determine 3PV missionaries and preachers.

Just make a tutorial like some people have suggested. I really dont see the point of making a dedicated game mode for instructional purposes only.

Absolutely NO!

As mentioned before in this thread
-Make an ingame tutorial for the new players
-Give them a free cheap mech to get them started
-Fix the matchmaking

I would like the controls to be harder, the more simulation feel the better!

And spend more time on fixing the game, adding chatlobbies, balancing... than this piece of **** ideas.

Cheers!

Simple answer: NO!

Constructive answer: HELL NO! ;)

It's supposed to be a combat simulation game. 3rd person view would ruin the reality of the simulation more than pretty much anything else, at least for me.

No to :
- 3rdPV control in game.
- 3rdPV control in tutorials.
- 3rdPV control as spectator.

Hell, I'd prefer no 3rdPV on death and knockdown.

Yes to :
- free camera 3rdPV in mechlab.
- free camera 3rdPV in match during drop countdown.
- live 3rdPV instead of paperdoll.
- a lock-torso toggle.
- a single player firing range to get the hang of mech controls, JJ, heat and loadouts.
- 3rdPV as a controlled example in tutorials.
- interactive, voiced, in-game Tutorials.

NO to 3PV in game...would kill the flavor of the game!!!!!
Make a tutorial for newbies
MAYBE 3PV for spectator mode but if it must delay other important features being implemented please don't waste the time
