maybe they are tearing YOU apart but they certainly dont tear anything and everything. have you even used AC2 before? they are pretty unwieldy vs any moving target. i suggest dont stand still.

True enough, the only thing that can and should rip you to absolute **** burgers is theUAC5, and possibly the AC5, 4 of them are pretty mean.

Ac2s are no problem. Get cover and use guass. Easy win. AC2 requires more exposure to do the same damage. Old MW4 hill humpers have no problem wasting dakka dakkas. There is a problem with knock. Again, not on AC2s. I think the knock they have now is perfect and the foundation of the rather punishing knocks the higher calibers should have, along with KD chances.

You can't have a quad AC2 cicada. The weight of the four AC2's alone eats up the tonnage and you barely have 1 ton of ammo left to use. At the rate and very low damage the Ac2 does you hardly have enough ammo to engage a 1-legged hopping jenner and kill it.

This is incorrect. A Cicada with max armor (-2 points), cockpit, life support, sensors, and gyro weighs exactly 10.5 tons. At 6 tons per, you can put in 4 (24 tons), 4 tons of armor w/ CASE (4.5 tons), and still have enough weight for a 100 rating engine allowing you to move 40.5 kph or 43.5 kph after speed tweak. Sure, an Atlas will outrun you but you can still fit it on the 3C and move.

Build this, and drop into game with it, and I will happily run with you.
A bit ridiculous, but the fact that you went to the trouble to figure this out is admirable.

This is the kind of thinking we tend to encourage in our outfit, do you play with an organized group?

When you enjoy the Cicada but are forced to make the choice of your 3rd variant between the bad 3C and the bad and super expensive 3M, its much more entertaining to buy the 3C and then come up with whacky ways of playing it. I thought about dual LBX-10s and got a wild hair up my butt enough to think about dropping 1.5 tons of armor, mounting 2 AC/20s with 1 ton of ammo, and then running the 100 engine. But that is just throwing away money when you can't get into range of your target only to become a paper weight after 7 pulls of hte trigger. But the comedy that would ensue aftwards would be pricelss.

But there are scenarios that this might work.

Imaging in the future you've bid for a contract and for whatever reason, the tonnage is really low.
Again, for some unknown reason, you're on a map where your side is pure defense, and for another odd reason, you find yourself in a Cicada.

Not saying you'd want to take this mech, but I can imagine a scenario where it might make some sense.

Very true, Duck. If you wanted to get really squirrely, you could drop some armor on the 2A and mount 6 ER Large Lasers. Then, the speed wouldn't matter cause you'd shut down with every alpha. ^_^

Since we're on the subject, you could take out the Awesome 9-M with 6 ERPCCs on it.

Someone called it the Plasma Cannon and the name kinda stuck.

Check your forum PMs.

Its a 30mm gun yet the shell explodes like a huge cannon and shakes your screen.

So yea it needs to be fixed rate of fire is fine but this splash shake screen poop is the issue.

I would call it the plasma bomb if you fire 6 ER PPC in a alpha you cook your whole mech there is no way to soak 90 heat.

I tried it once, during Closed Beta when the C-bills flowed like water and a profile reset was always around the corner.....
Maybe it was 5 then, i don't remember......

I do remember you shut down for a good 20 seconds when you alpha.....

The entire point of the build is to goof around on pubs, I know two people that roll them off and on. You go in and get your alpha shot and look to see what you hit! If you manage to hit sit back and laugh at the hilarity, if not oh well, you're dead in the next few seconds anyways.

I'm more worried about the Jagermech and the Cataphract that will have 4 gauss at 60 damage. 1 shot just about anything short of an atlas without the need to aim for the cockpit.

Do you realize 4 Gauss alone (without ammo) weight 60 tons? (15x4)
Only a high end assault mech could have 4 Gauss, but even so, with a lot of sacrifices.

Troll much?

MC only, for a gun?

So after all the stuff that has gone on in these forums, negatively comparing MWO to WOT.....

Do you really expect anyone to honestly believe you when you say you "heard it from a dev" that PGI was going to create a "golden gun" that would fully enshrine the P2W philosophy?

I call shenanigans......

Pssst...Gunny...

For those who like (or hate) the AC/2, I present you the Kraken (or Bane, if you are a clanner):

10x UAC/2
4x Machineguns (not that you need those)

Sadly the ease with which the multiple AC builds tear apart ANYTHING is just depressing. They core and crit with ridiculous ease. Unless you are very fast you are meat. Only build right now where you know you have to leave or die no matter your armament.

The cockpit shake BS from a small AC2 is what makes it the most stupid.

I think you are a very bad pilot. Everyone complains about everything that beats them. It's tiresome.

OMG laserboats are OP. OMG LRMS are OP, OMG Streaks are OP. OMG Guasscats are OP. OMG ACs are OP.

Shut up.

I get killed on a regular basis and I don't complain about any of the builds. Then again after 25 Years of playing a combat game you get used to dying.
