Well before you guys go off too much on the players.. the PGI team has alot to answer for.
No in game general chat is a big one.
Weapons and mech stats pretty much non existent.
Social media updates and little to nothing in the forums (Since beta)
We're also starting to suffer from development team rose colored glasses.
Anyone Else Frustrated?

While we're all slagging each other off here, can anyone point out how the OP's post isn't true?

Allow me to try and 'be nice' ... 1.) I don't want mechwarrior to be compared to FPS, except at the very basic level, there are way too many FPS twich games, which I neither enjoy or am particularly good at, believe it or not I'm best at strategy, flight sims, and RPG *thinking* games. 2.) If its going to be more of a simulation, by default its going to be more complex, more indepth, and have a slower learning curve. 3.) If you think you are such a bad *ss, go try a realistic flight sim with aircraft carrier programming, I bet you crash and burn for way longer than the players you are insulting have been playing MWO. 4.) Even better, get into the ring with a professional boxer, and see how you do.
....Point being, Mechwarrior is not a easy pick up FPS, its a little more in depth (Thankfully) those complexities tied in with a PVP set up where even if every individual is good, a mediocre 'team' could still win the match if the better players don't coordinate. This 'I'm tired of bad players' attitude just isn't reflective of the reality. I want mechwarrior to be hard, and I want to be a 'bad' player for a long time, not for a lack of trying but for the complexity they can and hopefully will add to this game. So shove off with this 'hardcore' gamer elitism. A simulation isn't doing its job if everyone can be an maestro from the beginning.

while i understand what your saying, i will agree with others who posted about the difficulty at entry into MWO. The problem really lies with the developers not having a quality system in place to teach new players about the game. Video tutorials are fine, but the fact is that most people wont be looking at the internet until they get frustrated, at which point you already lost quite a few potential customers due to said fruistration.
The game would be much better off from a population perspective if time was invested into a quality tutorial section, and players given something like a commando as a starting mech, rather then being forced through the trial mechs to generate income.

Trial mechs should only face trial mechs.
This would level the field for both the experienced players and the newcomers.

Have weapons come online 5-10seconds after the match begins will stop most of the opening sequence Friendly Fire incidents. This has been suggested many times.
The game really does need a tutorial to give basic familiarisation of the controls and game mechanics. That would resolve a lot of the other issues associated with new players not understanding how their ride works or the game mechanics involved during battle. Yeah the game isn't that hard to figure out, but neither are the thousands of other games out there with a tutorial.
As for the rest, well they're working on refining the systems to reward participants and not exploiters. Report those you see.

This is what happens when you have no tutorial what so ever...
