I decided I'll either get a CH Throttle, Fighterstick, and pedals, or I would skip the throttle and use my Cyborg X, FighterStick, and Pedals...
Then again, the pedals could potentially be overkill, so I could just dual joystick, which would obviously be the cheapest option.
Regardless, I don't have the cash to do any of those things right now, so I'll just have to wait on it.

Left stick for forward back and straife movements
right stick for aiming on the go. my right stick also has enough buttons to allow for the weapons hot groups that i need...
right pedal for acceleration and left pedal for jump jets.
just a running idea i have as of right now. ill know more once i get my hands on the game

I've got a saitek cyborg evo, its a really decent stick and basic throttle, and it's built for left and right handed users, also people with smaller/ larger hands, you adjust the handrest positions by unscrewing them and re attatching them reversed or adjusted, you can also adjust the orientation of the thumb triggers to suit you hands orientation.
mine is an early generation the new 'fly 5' one looks pretty cool (twin throttles?!!?).

(other sticks may do the same stuff). ;-)

Along with the previously mentioned Saitek controller, which can be configured to fit either hand, Saitek has at least one hand neutral design (The AV8R) which has several variants. Thrustmaster has the T.16000M which can also be configured for either hand.
For CH Products fans with extra displosable cash, there was a guy who made custom left handed versions of the top end CH stick and throittle units.
I'm sure there are other solutions out there as well, if one looks hard enough.
As for me, I prefer to have a throttle in the left hand. With a good HOTAS set, one can have plenty of buttons, etc. and multiple modes to make even more use of them.

Steel Batalion? That would be overly complicated. I remember playing Steel Batallion and not understanding most buttons. Although it would be awesome for mech simulation if I figured the controls out, I think I will just use 2 joysticks and pedals because Steel Batallion would be more expensive anyway. But later if I'm rich I might get that controller.
