Could you post your commando set-up? We would get a better idea if we knew what you where running with.

Put 2 streaks on your right arm and 1 streak on your torso and attach a small laser on your right arm.
2 tons of streak ammo should be plenty.

Lose your 11th heatsink and replace your SRM4 with a 6. gives you a little more kick. Missile builds are slightly less reliant on heat anyways. best used against heavier(and easier to hit) opponents.

the 3xStreaks are a good choice if other Light mechs are giving you trouble.

some more hints here (*shameless plug*):
http://mwomercs.com/...going-commando/

If you're worried about your firepower and have a couple mil to drop on a XL engine you can shove in 3xSRM6 for 45 firepower. that's about as high as you can get a Commando. but i wouldn't worry about that number. for Light mechs it's not about how much damage you can put on quickly. Its about how long you stay alive to keep putting out the damage you have.

Am running with the 2D at present and found excellent mix is fast engine (at least XL195), Endo, DHS 10 (min), 160pts armour (circa), x3ssrm with 3tons ammo, x1 MPL. No AMS. If want more armour, drop mpl for ml.

This gives good hitting power against most anything, especially from behind. Speed is 126,4 standard, and increases once elite skill unlocked. AMS is not needed as high speed with sharp turns will dodge most if not all lrms. NEVER RUN IN STRAIGHT LINES! And never stop! Stand still and die.

Avoid open ground - 2D makes target practice there. Use cover, sharp turns and high speed to take on targets.
With this build I can avg 400-450 pts damage in a good match, higher in an excellent match and round 120 in a bad defeat.

Your objective is to always hit from behind if possible. You can take on a Jenner or Cicada 1-on-1 and win, but if more get backup. Finishing off wounded mechs is a good job in this build.

Commando's advantage is speed and that extra arm twisting. Use it.

Good luck, feel free to get in touch ingame.

Since i tried 3 streak SRM + 1 med laser 2d became my favorite COM mech... in 1 vs 1 combat only a Spider with ECM could be real danger )

Don't forget to mount an ECM; it helps a lot.

Here's the build I used to run: COM-2D

I run this as my scout: COM-2D It's rather tight though with FF, XL, and Endo. However, it packs a pretty good alpha for a commando with ECM.

I like the streak build above, I might try that, though I'd probably drop a streak and throw in an MPL. I can do that without removing FF and throw 2 more points on my head.

I'd move the SRM ammo to the CT if I were you; the legs are prime targets on any light, and a bad crit can ruin your day if it explodes the ammo (not that your day is looking very good if you're down to IS on the leg, but who knows? It may save your skin).

BTW, I actually tried that last night, had an amazing match (~500 damage). Think I'll keep it like that for a while.

No way, the COM-2D with streaks is a crazy fun mech. Yeah it useless for 12 mans because of all the ECM out there, but for just having fun and being annoying while pugging it's a great little mech. I jammed 400 missiles onto mine so I rarely run out ;)
