First of all, it is a matter of taste. I know a lot of people who actually like the animated series but you have to realize it was made for children. Read the animated series sourcebook and you find out that a lot of mistakes in the series resulted as a compromise to adapt the really complex Battletech Universe for a children viewerbase. There are lot of things in the series which I dont like but keeping that in mind I personally can enjoy watching the show.
But we should stay on topic. This is a Lyran Commonwealth info thread, not a discussion about the animated series!

More seriously, I don't see why not. It's a FedCom design. It's a bit fast for a 60-tonner, but it's a close combat one, so that's reasonable.
Unfortunately, it's a 3067 design, so don't get your hopes up.

Q. Will MechWarrior® Online™ have Mech melee combat?
A. At this point in time we are not looking at melee combat. We may revisit melee combat if we can design something that is fun and does not compromise the overall gameplay experience.

Sory boy, but the Awesome is FWL build .. although they lack PPCs - so maybe you can trade 3 PPCs for 3 Awesome without weapons and tell them that they have now a lance
