So is a lot of 'science fiction', in fact the idea that science fiction should be what we call 'hard' today is a very modern thing, indeed. Most of the genre founders wrote 'science fantasy' for sure.

Hmm, sure now you mention him he'd be there but I was going much earlier than that. Regardless, we can name a lot of highly respected authors who score very low on the 'Scale of Hardness' but are definitely considered science fiction authors, even great science fiction authors.

You might be a Lyran if you wonder why these people are talking about 40K and not something inportant, like money, or more Atlases.

You might be Lyran if you think an Imperator Titan is the new replacement for the aging Atlas.

you might be a Lyran, if you have money.
6 weeks paid leave.
Real armour on your mech.(not the outside of cornflakes packets).
Ammunition.
A spare mech for the weekend.
Champagne pool parties
A cooling vest that works
when you have 12 atlases in your mech company who needs scouts...

You might be a Lyran if you have an ugly face and a big butt and your butt smells and you like to kiss your own butt.

You might be a Lyran if your Atlas wears a gold-encrusted Commando as a hat.

You are most definitely a member of House Steiner if you can skinny dip in a swimming pool filled with Piranha and not even get scratch!

- You might be Lyran if you refer to the enemy mechs as "those bothersome little tin cans".

- You might be Lyran if a company of your mechs dropping causes a planet to shift out of alignment.

- You might be Lyran if You have enough medals on your uniform to deflect an assassins bullet from any angle.

- You might be Lyran if your Lance Commander just happens to be the Company Commanders nephew.

- You might be Lyran if you use your heat sinks to cool bottles of champagne while not in combat.

- You might be Lyran if your drop ship contains a handful of 5 star restaurants, a brothel, a brewery, and a night club.

- You might be Lyran if you race jenners for sport.

- You might be Lyran if you wear giant boots on your atlas so that the blood of trampled infantry doesn't muck up the paint.

You might be a lyran if you think advanced targeting is another word for an audit.
