The point of the 3 variants, as has been brought forth many times on this thread and MANY others is pretty simple.

It helps you to understand, i.e. MASTER the chassis, not just the mech.

You CAN pay to PLAY. Use that YLW to gain the bonus XP. BUY some premium time, earn extra CBills and the YLW to gain the xtra XP. USE MC to convert those XP and max out the other 2 chassis you dont like but bought with all that YLW bonus CBill earnings. Once they max out, sell the off. Its that damn simple.

I, and many others, actually enjoy using multiple chassis. I learn the quirks and uses of each one. When Community Warfare shows up, I will then know the best mech for use with my team as we prepare to do battle against another team. I dont sell my chassis. I keep them. I actually LIKE them all (8 and counting). I spend real $ for MC to buy Mech Bays (part of the PGI plan). I will also purchase the YLW as I LIKE Centurions (not just the bonus it provides).

So you can PAY to get what you want if you want. You can also play and never pay. Master up 3 chassis, sell them off, start a new. You get 4 mech bays that is 1 more than you need to do it this way.

I will say this, if you only ever play 1 variant of 1 chassis, you are really missing out of a lot this game has to offer. Using the system PGI have put into place, I have found several chassis that I DO like that I never thought I would.

To each their own. You play your way and I will play mine. I dont have a Founder's Tag (health issues during the Founder's Run) but I do spend money on the game and will continue to do so as long as I can, not to buy and advantage, but to get things I actually want, mech bays, YLW (altho it does offer an advantage) and others things as they are added that I MIGHT be interested in.
