What kills me about issues like this is that there are tons of people unaffected (like myself - specs below some of you guys, but doing just fine - no noticeable drop (or boost) in FPS). Why are some folks having trouble and many others not? We know there are issues with underpowered CPUs, always have been... but why would they get worse? And why are many folks with top-end hardware suddenly having trouble? It makes no sense :/

if this is indeed that case then what i read in another thread may have more value.

a small number of people said they had fixed their fps issues by uninstalling, redownloading the client, and doing a new install.

but many people also said that did not work... but i intend to try that since i can't do anything else at the moment.

Noticed a big frame rate drop when playing post-patch. Thought maybe it was out-dated drivers, but everything is up to date. Hopefully they can fix it up, cause as it stands, it's pretty unplayable. Which is a shame cause I like this game quite a bit.

Good luck on the reinstall, and please let us know how it goes! I've had to reinstall 3-4 times now for other reasons (always after a patch goofed something up) so I am hopeful that it will help for folks who have issues not related to underpowered hardware.

cpu usage is now pegged at 1oo% gpu somewhere around 20... maybe... lowered my resolution to 1400x900 from 1650x1050.. No difference..
Also, I see shadows on mechs when everything should be off..

My ... "low end rig" E5200 @ 3.66gh dual core win 7 4 gig ram. radeon 6850 @!\ 830mh core 1100 mem.

oh fps are around 10 in battle..

If you are seeing effects that should be turned off, it may be a goofed up shader folder. Try this (from another post where someone contacted MWO support):
- Close out of MWO
- Delete the shaders folder (C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders)
- Restart MWO, try another round

Reinstall seems to have put me back to close to where I was before, I am getting around a constant 25 FPS now where as before I got 30 FPS.

One thing to note, when you uninstall it does NOT delete the old game files. Make sure you trash the c:\games\pirahana folder

del /S /Q "C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders\*.*"
cd "C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\"
MechWarriorOnline.exe

Batch file to clear that directory and then launch the game

Damn near unplayable for me too. Just gave a few matches ago today for first time since update and wow, it's sluggish. I'm averaging about 20 fps with it bottoming out at around 10. Previously it was closer to 35-40. My system isn't great but it isn't bad etiher.

CPU: Phenom II x4 3.0 Ghz
GPU: Radeon HD 6850 1GB
Ram: 8GB DDR3
OS: Windows 7 64bit home premium

Playing 1920x1080, max settings minus AA.

Quad core people, try this and see if it helps.
in the windows search bar type msconfig
click on the boot tab
Then hit advanced
there you should number of processor. Uncheck it and reboot.
windows 7 and vista for some reason jives this and often your system will only read two cores.

It seems to be unchecked by default.

ive found that displaying fps per F9 actually cuts my FPS in half (it seems like it, since i cant measure it without pressing F9).
try moving your torso around while playing with F9 and you'll see.

but theres still those hiccups when new enemy mechs come in sight.
